Yes, in the AG Russell intro video to this knife its mentioned he didn't design this knife but that he liked it and bought as many as he could. I thought it was made by Moki myself.

I wonder if the lack of tightness of blade to backspring is due to it not being a lockback? Every Moki I have is a lockback now that I think about it and they all lock tight as discussed in this thread earlier. Maybe there is reason you can’t get the same tolerances on a non-locking knife?
I’d like to see some discussion or explanation of that. Since I don’t know how to make a knife, I would have to depend on the experts.
Thanks for details on this knife. Is that video on his website? I haven’t watch any of those. I need to make time for that.

The spring- blade tang meeting can be all but invisible on a well made slip joint. Here is a 2 blade English jack made by Ken Erickson about 10 years ago.

Roland, I was hoping you would post something. Are those the one’s you have for sale?
Do you know of any production knife that get’s this close? Especially on a slip joint? I can see one done by these masters looking this great, but it’s not something I have ever seen on a Case, Queen, GEC, etc.
I love those two you have. Congrats on getting the ivory sold. That was a steal at that price. Both those knives are exquisite.

I have a Steel Warrior Congress with 'perfect' joints. I will see if i can find it. The answer is yes, there are production knives with a perfect spring/spine 'interface'. Certain patterns have springs following the curve of the frame and it is not possible for spring to mate squarely with the spring; e.g. sowbelly stock knife.
The knife in spine picture above is a Ken Erickson English Jack.

KJ, that surprises me that a Steel Warrior would have that tight of a fit.
That jack knife you have for sale is preying on my mind. But I got a cold reception when I mentioned it to the wife this morning. I’ve been going overboard lately on the purchases. Need to sell a few more before I go that heavy into one knife. Hated passing on the ivory knife, but w/ all the restrictions on ivory, I am a little nervous about how I will be able to move the ivory knives that I have someday. If I had my ivory Case scrimshawed knives sold, I wouldn’t hesitate.
Looking forward to seeing that Steel Warrior.

Sog Arcitech. Only Sog I've ever owned. VG10 san mai blade, carbon fiber handles, arc lock, jeweled thumb stud, wonderously finished - true mirror finish on the blade. I have found this knife to lock up solid without adjustment since new. Haven't extensively carried it, but enough that it is one of my few modern keepers. Its alot like the BM Rift, just better imo.

Favourite mug too, Blue Mountain Pottery (BLM), ubiquitous with 1970s Canada.

I casnnot find where i put the Steel Warrior Congress with perfect spring - blade spine interfaces. But i did find the second one i bought and while very good it is not the absolute perfection of the one i am storing so safely it cannot be located. This is a sub $20 knife.

Rob, I have wanted an Architech forever. They had one in red jigged bone that I came close to buying several times but the 300+ dollar price tag kept me away. These SOG’s have such curvy lines, I love em.

KJ, I have never seen that model before. You are right that interface is tight. Pretty impressive. I like the style of that congress. Never seen the inlays framed like a window before. How old is that knife? Do they still make them today?

There are a few Steel Warrior patterns with this type of inlay into a SS frame. I doubt these are still being made but examples do show up on ebay.
Here are 2 other S.W. patterns with these handles. They also have good spring-spine meeting.

kj, that Hiro is very similar to an AG Russell knife I have with inlays and Gin1 blade. I had it out a ehile ago, have to see if I can find it. Nice knife.

I don’t know how I have overlooked this part of the JKD website, but the section marked “specials” has some absolutely incredible knives and scrissors. Check out these scissors, they are wild.
Here is another one that caught my eye. Made from walrus tusk. Is that even allowed? A Loveless design. Gorgeous and of course sold out. The Loveless was 1100. The scissors are 125.
I am going to stew on all the knives that are still available and I think I just found where my Christmas is coming from. It’s coming from Japan.

This is one that I wish I had known about when I could have had a chance to buy it. The blade is made of nickle Damascus, never heard it that before. The handle is made from box elder. The bolster is titanium w/ an ivory spacer. This sold for 1080 new. Absolutely gorgeous. I love that green box elder. This ranks as one of the most attractive knives I have ever seen. I don’t suppose anyone was lucky enough to get one of these?

The detailing on that knife is remarkable. In the photo the lower guard appears to be slightly canted forward which I love. But perhaps that is an illusion created by the camera angle. If so, it wouldn't be the first illusion I've fallen for.

The scissors are more like shears, maybe for bonsai work ? I'm sure they are a special purpose tool, not household scissors, which can also cost ~ $125.

I just went to Japanknivesdirect and clicked on "Specials". Well, it is stunning. I have never seen so many exquisite knives, every one and there could be 500 of them there. It is a show worth taking in. Luckily about 90% are sold. They do have one 'copy' of a Bob Loveless "Hideout" for $1000. Amazing knife. Bob would have been humbled & impressed i think. There is also a "New York Special" set, fixed & folder with ivory handles by a Mr. Watanabe, incredible knives, $2500, fortunately sold out or my line of credit would have groan.
Thanks for telling us of this site. Although retail it is more like a fine museum tour.

kj, It truely is. The photography is top notch. I can spend hours just looking at these knives, they are so well done. That doesn’t compare to holding one in the hands though. I feel fortunate also that most are sold out. Still, I am going to keep a close eye on this and maybe get one some day. I have some more pictures to post of some others that caught my eye on here. Will share a few in the future.
The first two pictures I posted are the same knife. I purchased this from the JKD chef knife site. I noticed this one in the last picture is very similar to my chef knife that is on this “specials” section.
I can tell you that all the Loveless knives I have purchased from JKD have been of the highest quality. Anyone would be proud to own one.

At the other end of the price spectrum are the Kershaw Seki Japan knives. These are my 4, from the top 5300, Whiskey Gap, Indian Ford and Wild Turkey. The Wild Turkey is 7" overall, with a 3.25" blade.

All really nice knives. Loves the sleek lines and I know the fit and finish are incredible.

I have the top 3 of the Kershaws shown so i agree with: "Loves the sleak lines and I know the fit and finish are incredible." (except for "sleak", i would say "sleek") I also think these were not expensive so were a very good deal.

I was in elementary school during that time when they tried teaching w/out phonics. My wife has to proof most of my listings for spelling and grammar errors. She is a genius w/ an IQ of 141. Spelling is her thing. She went to the national spelling bee championship in D.C. two years in a row when she was in junior high. You should try to win a game of Scrabble against her, it’s not easy and it all boils down to the luck of the tiles for me to win. I corrected my post so I won’t be forever embarrassed. Thank you for the kind correction. As it says in Proverbs,: as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” That’s one of my favorites. Maybe I should start a thread about that, how one person has helped you grow as a person. Might just do that.
