Thanks Roger, you expect to see a reversed etch on Bokers, but it's rare on American made knives.

Here is a a Schrade 1926 stamp with "Earl Ferris Nursery" (Hampton, Iowa) etch.

I have a similar one with an advertising etch on both sides of the blade

Camillus New York USA bone handled double etched. Master blade Camillus Deluxe stock knife. Spay blade for flesh only.

Beautiful knives, Peanut. I especially like that KABAR dogs head. But that Forest King you posted back in September is an incredible match of blade size and shape, handle, and etch: just about as good as a folding knife can be.

Fellows, I have a question regarding terminology. There are several threads on this forum that have the word vintage in the title. What does that mean on this forum? I have looked it up and there seems to be no consensus about its meaning a particular time period.

Thanks Dinadan.That Kabar is deeply etched.It's the 2nd etched Kabar hobo I have.I believe it is posted a few pages back.It is also reversed etched, but it is on the back of the blade.
Has far as a consensus on what is vintage, everyone has an opinion.For me the Camillus I posted is pushing what I would call vintage, usually pre 1960.Most of what I collect is pre 1940.Good question.I'm guessing you will get other opinions.

This is posted elsewhere, but I'll show the etch here, as well.

Wimberly & Thomas Hardware Co., Birmingham, Alabama, circa 1904 to 1920's.

Very rare marque on knives. I've only seen four, I think. There are local collectors here that have searched for years and do not have one.

Three Catt's but the one on the bottom is hardest to read. I believe the middle knife is the oldest of the 3.

This is a NYK Navy knife etch is faint but there. I got it from a members store.

The flylock I posted in the switchblade forum also.
