I bought this in Germany I think 1992 or 1993.

Sifting through some of my old tools, I came across these nice snips.

An oyster shucker and a tie clip made by Charles D. Briddell Inc.

Dave, that's one Super Tie Clip! I probably couldn't wear it here in California because it would scare the bejeebers out of some Tree Hugger!

Carvel Hall was originally a trademark if Briddell Inc. The trademark became the property of Towle Manufacturing Co. in 1960 when the Briddell family sold them their company. Here's a photo of the tie clip's box.

We've been needing a nut cracker for some time. Don't know what happened to the old family pass downs that were in a kitchen drawer all those years, but anyway.....

Imagine my surprise when I came across this one on Ebay the other day.

Nothing like killing two birds with one stone.

I actually have no idea if Robeson made it, although they certainly had the facilities to do so, but it has the appropriate ShurEdge logo and it will crack nuts.

Here's another neat item. It is a cigar cutter but it is spring loaded just like a switch blade knife!

I have two of these; one, this older one, is a safe queen; I received it from my grandfather in about 1956-58. The paper, and the box(not shown), are from the newer one (not shown). This is the cat's miaow (spelling?)(ok; the bee's knees) for pecans. The very sharp blades are replaceable. First you snip off the ends of the shell, then down the middle to split the two halves. It takes a little practice but it is the best there is.

Here are a couple of unusual nut crackers:
First is an ornately carved wooden one that has recesses inside the jaws to grip the nut.
Second is an older all steel one that can be flipped over to break either large or small nuts.I use this one a lot to feed my walnut addiction.

J. Russell & Co. Green river works palette knife. Pretty scraped up, but still readable.

I bought this palette knife from Scott. Hand forged from J. Russell & Co., Green River Works.
I think it's pretty early and has one of my favorite shades of green on it.

Not a knife, but marked on the box Royal Rochester and Robeson Cutlery Co. Most likely made by the older Rochester Stamping Company, another business owned by Millard F. Robeson.

Not mine, it sold on Ebay. I did bid though, didn't get it.
