The seller, Bill Swan (sportcolbs) "guesses" it was made by Schrade.

That does not look like a schrade built knife at all to me.
Having only ever owned a grand total of exactly one (1) Schrade knife my entire life, I wouldn't know what characteristics identify (or disqualify) a Schrade built knife...but I am curious to know why you don't think it's a Schrade, Paul. What are the clues?

I don't know how to put it into words, but it just does not have "the look". Having many many schrades they have become familiar to me and I can usually identify them without looking at a tang stamp. Sorry that I can't put it in a way that is more helpful.

I totally understand...it's kinda like Spiderman's "Spidey-Sense" something you just have an instinctual gut feeling about.

What would you say about this "Mink" Mini Trapper...it is listed as a Parker-Frost by Schrade...what's your Schradey-Sense tell you?

It looks schrade, but I know for sure that it is because those were stamped schrade on the back side of the main blade. I don't know where they sourced that bone or if they even jigged it themselves. I've also seen that type of bone on the tradesman series.

Parker and Frost brings to mind a scary list of usual suspects. Schrade maybe not. :D

Yes. They actually have a number of NOS camillus knives that I recently discovered were there. They probably have about two more full boxes of 72's. The prices are not bad, I paid about $22 for this including tax.

It's about the only mom and pop type of hardware store that I know of around here. I was pretty surprised to find the NOS knives, they said that they had them for a long time and decided to put them on the shelf.

Great looking 43, Doug!

I was out at the flea market with my sister today. Boy, I was striking out. Of course, she was doing well. She collects anything penguin, and was finding all kinds of stuff. I was beginning to think I'd get skunked, and then I happened upon a table where the guy had a cigar box full of knives. Most of them were those pakistani dymondwood ones, but as I dug deeper, I found a few nice ones. I picked out the ones I liked and asked how much for all of them. He said $15. I couldn't get the money out fast enough while trying to be cool.

Left side:
JA Henckels
Robeson

Right side:
Schrade Walden bone
Case whittler
Case half whittler
Boker barlow

The Robeson was a bit rusty, but it's cleaning up nice.

The pen has some use, but both are full and snappy with half-stops.

Your hardware store seems to exist in a bubble in the space-time continuum. I would call MIT or Cal Tech and get some physicists out there to investigate...

I was really excited to find them there, for all I know it may be the only hardware store that has camillus knives.

I think you could be right! At least, for *real* Camillus knives, not the Chinesium tacticals they now sell at Walmart.
