I took these Case knives pics on my jaunt out and around Napo’opo’o village and Kealakekua Bay this morning:

Silver Streak

Nice one, Fingers.....the grain lines in the table remind me of the "vanishing horizon" perspective drawings I learned how to do in art class.


Speaking of perspective.....I took these two shots of the same knife in the same location seconds apart. I just made a few minor adjustments in the position of the knife and my position with the camera. I like one better than the other because I feel the lighting makes it look more dramatic. Which one do y'all like best?

Q all of the photos are very nice.
I posted these two on The mail call thread. I thought they were some of the best knife pictures I have taken yet. Now that I look at the the sunfish pictures there is a difference not as dramatic.

Very nice shots. I prefer the second photo with the more vivid colors on the tree, blade, and handle. I have one of those Case Swaybacks. It is a really nice knife, but that design does not work for me: I keep nipping the web of my thumb when I close it.

Here are a couple of photos where I tried to capture an unusual grain in a wood handle. This is a knife that Reverand just rehandled for me.

Thanks Q. I wish I could take credit for the disappearing perspective but that was accidental as I didn’t even notice it until you pointed it out. As far as your photo is concerned the blade is more distinctive in the 2nd photo but I like the handle in the first. How’s that for being a politician

My iPhone camera had a hard time with the setting of this photo due to the bright sunlit background outside the window behind the knife. I think there's a setting for situations like this that transfers more light onto the foreground subject, but I was in the doctor's office waiting room and couldn't play around with it as much as I normally would. I ended up turning on the flash just to get the knife to show up and not be a dark shadowy knife-shaped splotch on a windowsill.

Nice wood grain on your Winchester Wharncliffe Whittler, Mel. I have grown quite fond of wood handles, especially when the wood is highly figured and has nice grain
