I'll do my best ~Q~ but that's the only one I've ever seen for sale. Don't lose hope, it can't be a rare knife so they must bob up now and then.

You are funny TFL but I have to admit that is the first thought that crosses my mind when I see the Christmas knives. Still a beautiful knife, I guess the problem is just in my head.

Picked up this guy off ebay. Hope I didn't get in a bidding war with anyone from here. Nice Joseph Rodgers. Anyone have an age range?

It has no center liner, I've worked on a 2 blade lambsfoot that had this construction also. Surprisingly, there is no play in the blades, and the action is solid on both blades. In fact, this may possibly be the hardest pull of any knife I've ever had!

The covers are some kind of plastic, they're a bit shrunk. I'm wondering if I should leave them as is. I don't think it's terribly valuable, but who knows.

Got two very different knives in the mail...

Top: 2003 Case 6318 in some sort of reddish bone
Bottom: Kershaw Chive - the smallest of the Ken Onion designs done for Kershaw. Kershaw sold zillions of the Ken Onion knives (Chive, Scallion, Leek, Shallot) and now Ken Onion designs for CRKT instead of Kershaw.

So, here have one modern, assisted-opening knife and an old nail-breaker stockman!

Both very desirable TFL. Happy for you.

That Case is from their Pocket Worn series, yours, obviously, Pocket Worn Red Bone.

I'm more taken by the Chive. I loves me some Speedsafe®.

A Victorinox Pioneer in silver Alox® showed up in my mailbox yesterday.

Chris - I think I agree with you on the size of the Chive. It's a bit disconcerting to hang onto a handle this small when the blade whips out so fast! But, it's fun once you get the hang of it. I have been looking at both the Chive and the Scallion for a while and wondering which was the better size. This Chive showed-up on ebay within my bottom-feeder price range, so I snagged it. Now I think I'll be on the lookout for a deal on a Scallion!

Ok guys, I took all week off and I;'m just agonizing over Fedex' USPS And UPS, But a couple came through today. Giraffe bone 032 from case and a used but serviceable Case Display.

Glenn, i have owned 'a couple' of Jos. Rodgers Jacks with similar etched ? on markings, shrunken black synthetic handles and very stiff pull.
I see these as Jos. Rodgers in name only likely made after WW II without the highly skilled cutlers of earlier times that made J.R. knives best in the world.
It would be great to hear from a J.R. 'expert' to confirm or correct my opinion.

My wife just "found" a package that apparently came earlier in the week. We've been married over 32 years and she still won't put the mail in the mail basket...

I was anxiously waiting for this little 1961-71 Queen #54 stockman in MoP. It needs a little Mother's on the blades, but otherwise it is pretty sweet! It will go really well with my 1961-71 Queen #8 pen in MoP.

TFL, congrats on the MOP queen. Where do you keep your knives? Boxes or felt slips or?????

I do not currently have any serious display cases - I just have a few pieces from my various collections that I keep in my office at work. So, for example, I have one of my postwar Lionel train engines, some pieces from my headphone collection, some of my yo-yo collection & (of course) a few knives.

Like everything else in my life, I take a cheap & dirty approach to knife storage. I have FAR fewer knives than many of you guys.

I bought a pile of these "sunglass pouches" from Ali Express:

I then attach one of these little price tags to each pouch:

I write the make, model, year (if known) & a short description on the tag. I then put the knives (in their pouches) in stackable plastic tubs. I try to have some organization to the tubs, so all the Case knives go together, all the Camillus go together, all the modern knives (Kershaw, Ganzo, etc) go together, etc. I don't bag the knives that have boxes, they just go directly in the tubs.

The pouches are really just to provide a small bit of scratch and ding protection.

All-in, the pouches cost me ~20 cents per knife & the white tags are ~6 cents per knife. I have all my knives in a spreadsheet, so I don't really need to go searching through the tubs to determine whether or not I own a knife. I only need to go into the tubs if I actually want to handle a knife.

It is FAR from an ideal system - I would love to have a room full of display cases - but that's probably not going to happen.
