Hey Dimitri....I didn't realize that they made a wood scaled 65-69. ....in Parkers book it only gives a price on delrin & redbone.

So---Now that it has been established that the blades are configured properly, except for the bail, what is not right about this knife?

Remington made 3 different patterns of 3 bladed scout knives....2 with the pattern #4783 and one with the pattern #4773.
Difference in the 3 are....the 4773 has no shackle...the 4783's differ by blade configuration and also master blade width.

Whats wrong is.. "PA knives" 4783 was put back together in the wrong blade configuration. .

In addition to not haven't a bail, the 4773 is a small frame knife, like the Girl Scout. I like it best of all the Remington scouts that I've seen.

I think that the knife is right, except for the bail.
It looks to me like the bolsters have been filled in where the removable bail was.

For reference from left to right-

RS3333
RS4233
RS4233 W/Pinched bolsters
RS(GS)4373
RS4773 Needs a blade in a bad way

Randy....I don't think that your seeing the whole picture here.......the top pic is the knife that He sent to have a spring replaced...the bottom pic shows the knife when He received it from the repair.

I too did not realize that they made 2 different 4783's until Dimitri wrote about it in his post.....I did some research..and sure enough they did.

Now I'm totally confused!

The RS4773 is 3 3/8" long closed was made between 1928-1932, it had the slim spear blade, no belt shackle.

The (2) variations of the RS4783 were made between 1934-1939 are 3 1/2" long, removable bail, both variations had the same size spear blade which is the larger size than the 4773.
