Lots of character in that gnarly wood; makes a great background for the worn smooth stag handle. Nicely presented texture contrast, T-Dog 8)

I hear the Bradshaws calling to me all the time. I see Crown King, the Oro Belle, and Fort Misery in my dreams many nights. I'll get back there sooner or later. ::tu::

This picture actually isn't the greatest, but I'm posting it any way because the danger I went through to get the photo is in line with the spirit of the thread, even if the quality is not. You see, I was up on my roof cleaning out my gutters when I decided the apex of my roof would make for a great knife picture. Im getting a new roof in two weeks, these current singles are shedding single dust like crazy. Makes them hazardous to walk on. Not the prettiest knife either but I wouldn't trade ol trusty here for a whole pile of pretty new Case cutlery.

Proving once again that context is everything. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but a little narrative goes a long way ::nod::

Zach, your description of the setting and circumstance actually gives life and depth to what might otherwise be a relatively mundane picture of an uninteresting knife and kept me looking at it longer than I surely would have without the backstory. Your dedication and willingness to risk life and limb to try and capture an interesting photo are commendable ::uc:: Well done ::tu::

BTW FWIW--had you fallen off the roof and broken your neck in pursuit of the perfect shot, at least you can take a measure of comfort in knowing that your photo would have survived to tell the tale and serve as a lasting testament to your artistic commitment

I took a similar series of pictures with my whittler collection from the top of my house. I called the series "Whittler on the Roof"

Were you drinking that stuff or using it for chainsaw fuel? That'll certainly take the paint off your tonsils! ::rotflol:: Great lookin' knives too! Love the background set up, very cool photo. ::tu::

::rotflol:: ::clapping:: Come on Sas, ... ::huff:: you should know that I don't use a chainsaw... I am devoted to the Axe!!! I am, however, very bad at starting fires ... and that bottle sure helped out in that department...pour a liberal amount on the wood and just make sure that you stand back a good distance and toss the lit match with your head turned away to avoid any flash burns...
