That's the way I like to buy a used knife Wade - in great shape but a user for sure - enjoy your "Birthday" knife! OH

Sold a few mass produced knives to fund a Tim Britton. What a trade. The mass produced didn't have antler like this. Didn't have steel like this. Didn't have a butter smooth action effortlessly and smoothly snapping open and closed. Weren't this light, sleek, unique. Think it was a good trade so far.

Nice score Ivoryman! That's a beauty. Sunken joint on the Wharncliffe blade, nearly sunken joint on the Pen blade, and some really nice popcorn stag. Looks like it feels great in the hand.
What's the closed length and the blade steel on that bad boy if you don't mind my asking?

Don't know what you gave up but I bet you are ahead. That is a gorgeous knife. Wharncliffe, stag, size, that has it all. Wow, I have to go look again.

Thanks RailSplitter, closed it's about 3 and 9/16. Steel is BG-42 and he calls it his prime stag. Tim said 20 years ago he bought a bunch of India stag, I assume Sambar but I'd have to check with him to verify. This is from that batch. Aged like fine wine.
Thanks everyone for comments, appreciate it and you're all too kind. Had to give up a Case, GEC, and an S&M. That about covered it and there are always lots more of those kind around. This was a little more hard to come by. Had to wait a few weeks and trust, sight unseen, but well worth that. Mr. Britton is ultimate cool and does customizing if you don't like his normal patterns. The build is about the best my limited eyes have ever seen, and the blades are thin so the edge is fine. Beautiful materials is about all he uses too. Great maker in my book. Get one if you can.

This wonderful and very attractive Bose Norfolk was made possible by a little help from Railsplitter and can't thank him enough for being intermediary between me and some BladeForums guy I don't even know. Railsplittler saw it, he mentioned it to me, he did the negotiations, and played the middle man like a tune doing me a big favor. I had my eye on one for many moons and this one is flawless and just what I always wanted and could never get for being left in the dust from the race of the deep pocketed bidders. Many thanks blade brother Railsplitter for a little help from my friends and kindness just to do a fellow blade fan a favor. This forum is full of that kind of folks and I appreciate it. Thanks again, love the knife. The fish approve too, they came up to check it out.

Ivoryman wasn't the only one who benefited from our endeavor. He sent me these very cool items as a token of his appreciation for helping him obtain the Norfolk.
A Stag handled Ferro Rod with a nice sheath and an Ancient Walrus Tooth carved by Ivoryman himself. Both very nice gifts but the Walrus Tooth is just so cool!!
Thanks again, Ivoryman!

Thanks Homer, thanks KSlinger, appreciate it, you're too kind. Glad you like them KSlinger, decided to sell a few mass produced knives to fund the Britton and the Bose. Good trade in my book. No my ship didn't come in, just too many knives to upkeep and thought I'd move a few to get on to bigger and better things. Think it worked out. More happy with the Bose and Britton than almost every other knife I've ever had. Thanks for the compliments and a shout out to Railsplitter, glad you like the ivory and antler, and thanks to all who commented. Appreciate it and glad you like the eye candy like me. Great day to all of you.

When I got home from my weekend trip I had this late-model #72 yello-jaket waiting for me. The box is a little beat-up, but the knife looks great!
