That Hawthorne is wonderful, Roland!

That Hawthorne caught my I eye right away too. All great knives.

Outstanding haul, Roland. I have my MB whaler in hand now and I've gotta marvel at just how colossal that wormgrooved bone trapper has to be. 5 1/2" closed?

GEC has crushed it with the ironwood on the 46 and the earlier 77 Barlow run. I've been regretting not reserving one of each since I saw the first one pop up on AAPK.

KJ, your ivory Hawthorne is a looker! My first variation Buck Stockman (pre-301) came yesterday. For a 52 year old knife it is in excellent mechanical shape and not bad visual shape. If it was for my pocket only I would drop it in and go forth, but it is for my 301 collection so off to the Buck Spa it's going. OH

Way to go OH, those are hard to find period let alone in good condition; congratulations! I hadn't thought about sending mine to the "spa", but maybe I should consider it.

Is "Hawthorne" some kind of model or type name? Since the knife is stamped Northwoods.

The only Hawthorne I know of is a variety of fixed blades made by Western stamped HAWTHORNE made in the early 60s for whoever Hawthorne was.

It's actually a #48 GEC Pattern that Northwoods calls the Hawthorne jack.

Thanks Scott and Baykeeper. I mailed it to Buck yesterday, usually takes about a month. I’ll let you know how it looks when I get it back. OH

To add to Greg's comment, I may be mistaken but I believe that Derrick used nearby street names for many of his Northwoods patterns when his shop was in Oregon. I'm guessing there is a Hawthorne Street somewhere near the old shop in Oregon.

Got this 6235 on Monday and carried it with me all day today. A new favorite.

Dogg, that is the first variation (of three) made by Schrade - 1966. I've been looking for a long time for an affordable one of those. OH

EDIT....forgot to add the 1920 - 1940 bone Case Tested XX sleeveboard (not planning to sell unless someone makes me an offer I can't refuse.)

I'm addicted to Camillus 14's. Another one showed up today. A very nice knife for a ridiculously low price. Great snap, a tiny bit of wobble but that doesn't bother me as much as it does some.
