Very recently, my visit to the post office produced this lobster or gentlemans', pattern or style of pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the latest example to be added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. It is an ORANGE CUTLERY COMPANY, one blade, one tool (a file with a blade tip), two tang stamps, 3" closed, lobster or gentlemans', pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "ORANGE (over) CUT. CO. (over) WALDEN, N.Y." The tool front/back tang stamp (worn) said, "ORANGE (over) CUT. CO. (over) WALDEN, N.Y." The main blade does have a SOFT half stop. The main blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a GOOD closing snap. The tool does have a SOFT half stop. The tool does have an OK opening snap. The tool does have a GOOD closing snap. Both handle sides have cracks in the scales. These cracks do NOT bother me. As a precaution against possible outgassing, I have isolated this pocket knife. Overall, this pocket knife is in FAIR condition. This pocket knife did NOT require any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

three tang stamps and four different ORANGE CUTLERY COMPANY pocket knives. The article and the pictures
can be found in his book, "Knives of the Hudson Valley - 160 Years of American Cutlery History"
The whole book is a VERY INTERESTING and VERY INFORMATIVE read.

Droescher's SRD brand 1891-1924

S.R. Droescher from Solingen, moved to New York.

It is a W.M ELLIOT & Cᴏ̲, one blade, one tool (a corkscrew), one tang stamp, 4 3/4" closed, lever lock, "Deer Foot", pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "W.M ELLIOT & Cᴏ̲ (over) AUSTRIA" This is my third "Deer Foot", pattern or style of pocket knife. My other two, "Deer Foot" pocket knives, were both previously posted, under this topic or thread. The main blade does NOT have a half stop. The main blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a GOOD closing snap. The corkscrew opens and closes, with NO issues. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT need cleaning. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

I have an old German brand that I can't find much info about. The tang stamp says 'Ramon Germany'?

BOENTGEN & SABIN SOLINGEN GERMANY c 1867-1983 Located in the Bonsa-Werk, Solingen, Germany. The company made knives using many different trademarks. One trademark used was "Bonsa." They went out of business about 1983.

Böntgen & Sabin AG, Stahlwarenfabrik, Solingen.
The Böntgen & Sabin AG Stahlwarenfabrik was originally founded by August Böntgen and Louis Sabin around 1870 and registered in 1876 (Carter, 2001; Goins & Goins, 1998).  In 1922 the Böntgen & Sabin AG Stahlwarenfabrik was advertising their trade name BONSA.  Very little information is available on August Böntgen.  Information on Louis Sabin, on the other hand, is plentiful.  Among the most interesting things is that Louis was a member of the German Reichstag and also represented the Union of Solingen Manufacturers’ Association.  The BONSA (Böntgen & Sabin) Company was behind the production of many Leverlocks.  BONSA Leverlocks can be found with stamps like: ‘BONSA’, ‘B. Svoboda’, ‘Helmut Hartenau’, ‘F. A. Bower Imp. Co.’, ‘G. C. Co.’, ‘IMCO’, ‘ROMO’, ‘Puma’, ‘RAMON’, ‘Solingen Cutlery’, ‘Stainless Import’, and ‘Schoepfer N.Y.-City’ to mention a few.
