Thank you Glenn. I find the F&F on this to be exceptional. Germany at its best.

Lucky you (maybe...

). I ordered two different variants of the same knife this weekend (basically minutes apart) from two different dealers both roughly the same distance from here. One package shipped today. The other was delivered today.
Definitely not putting the "handling" in "shipping and handling".

I think I dodged a bullet - tonight was Bunko night, so she wasn't home when I got home, and she'll probably come home a little soused from a night of wine & dice. All evidence will have been safely tucked into the pile...
Here are the 3 knives - I previously talked about these being on their way to me. From top to bottom: A small, slim Imperial Jack - I don't know what number it is. The tang stamp indicates 1946-56. It's smaller than I thought it would be, and not in great condition, but believe it or not, it still has some visible blade etch! Next is a Camillus #14 with jigged synthetic handles. Finally, a Buck 704. The 704 has no date code, but from my research the script shield & tang stamp with no date code would make it 1980-85.

Buck 102 in 5160BOS
. This is my second Buck in this steal and although they do not come extremely sharp, a little bit of work on a hone gets them very sharp and they tend to stay that way for a while. Next to 1095 this is probably my favorite steal.

Tony I think that orange camelbone on that 43 trapper is a really handsome knife!

Thanks! I nearly skipped over the orange camel bone but the dealer I bought from had made a point of putting individual photos of each knife available online. Sure enough, I paged through the available knives looking for my favorite traits of camel bone (the varying degrees of absorption and coloration, the "grain" of the imperfections, the matching of the two slabs) and I stumbled across this one which had a decidedly scarlet hue to it on both sides. When I pulled it out of its tube for the first time yesterday, I saw that the pictures told no lies. I'm truly pleased to have this one.

This Black Box Winchester 2851 Gunstock from 1988 showed up today unexpectedly. It was a gift from a friend who I helped snag a knife that he really wanted at a huge discount before somebody else got it.
I knew this one was coming. I think five A.G. Russell knives in three weeks is enough but my last one just arrived this afternoon. Small Doctor's Knife in Stag.

I haven't seen that type of spatula before on the Doctor's knife. Interesting.

Found this three inch Robert Klauss two blade serpentine pen in an antiques store today for ten dollars.
Stainless blades in mint condition with super snap on both. A couple of spiders on the back spring.
Has the Kissing Crane logo on the front tang of master blade and the pen.
Black and grey handles that appear to be horn. More color on front than on back. Oval shield.
Nickel-Siver bolsters and Brass liners.
Couldn’t pass it up for ten bucks. Will make somebody a nice EDC.

1st Generation Solingen Bull Dog Cattle King. Near mint but imperfect fit, i.e. blade rub on the sheepsfoot and the hafting of the stag is slightly off on one bolster imo. Tight, lots of snap, half stops on all blades (soft). The few imperfections make it easier for me to use what is otherwise a beautiful piece.

Love the Black Box Winchesters and that's a very nice one.
I started off collecting Doc's and I've never seen that secondary blade on a Doctor's Knife. Very interesting.

Thanks Jerry.
I thought the the same thing about the blade on the A.G. knife but interestingly, I stumbled upon a very similar one by Tommy Overeynder while I was reseaching A.G.'s knife. Mine was a little cheaper, of course.

Isn't that the way it always goes? From never seeing one to seeing two in the same day. Do you suppose that was intended to be a scalpel?
Edit: Just looked the knife up on his web site and discovered he said it's intended as a scalpel.
