Beautiful shot, especially with everything in gray-brown winter mode here.

An outrigger might help but I think I'll wait on the beach while you test it in the surf!

Gave up trying to force my Squach canoe to surf (couldn't figure out how/where to attach the outrigger

) and decided it was better suited for fishing.....Wha'd'ya think, does it look like it could “cut it” as a fishing canoe?

Thanks and good eye 'Q' ... it is Morse Code "FTE" for "Front Toward Enemy" which is embossed on the case of the Claymore mine.

This Squach canoe is such a slick little speedboat I have to be careful not to create waves in my village while zipping around with it

Looks like the mainland canoe is doing just fine in the Islands.

I love that purple-ish one between the yellow Delrin and Caribbean blue sawcut bone....don't recall ever seeing that color before....do you happen to remember what it's called?

The one you asked about the color of is called Tie-Dye if I remember correctly.

The Squach crimson canoe that I won in the November GAW did not arrive unaccompanied. Fearing it would get lonely on its long voyage from New England to Hawaii and possibly get into mischief, Squach included Old Hickory as a chaperone and travel companion (the shy and elusive Sasquach may be anti-social beasts, but they are also extremely kind and generous creatures!) The long voyage turned out not to be as long as expected and Old Hickory quickly got bored with nothing to do but sit around watching Crimson Canoe pose for Big Island glamour shots. So, today OH got to have a turn posing for pics while I was waiting for my wife at her dermatologist appointment.

Nice series. That's a cool knife too, I like the pull on it.

I am a huge fan of the open cutout pull. Some folks call it a "Scagel-type" although I don't know if William Scagel actually invented it or if it's just used a lot on Scagel knives

It's great for people like me who don't have particularly strong fingers and nails. Old Hickory's spring is so stiff I don't think I could open it otherwise.

A couple of beauties there, Q.

Old Hickory didn't slack on spring steel! The one I have snaps like a Nile Croc. I used a drop of light oil on mine to make things a bit smoother. The half stop and open positions are surprisingly solid for a slip joint, a feature I really like.

Great pattern and the Scagel cutout pull on the Wharncliffe blade is very Cool. I'm guessing the top one is Smooth Bone?
