How often (in regard to knives) do you use the words "a new one for me", once every five years, or so?

That's my guess.Really a early stout knife.

This one is definitely old and rare.

MILLER BROS, nice old American. Here is an identical example from my collection. Mine is slightly swayback, but what can you expect for a 150 year old working knife.

If everyone viewing my above post can't tell, I am just learning to post photos.

Here is an old odd one. Totally unmarked. Brass bolsters and bar shield. If anyone has any information about this one please assist.

Here is a little quill knife with ivory scales. The blade markings are almost worn smooth. Years ago under very high magnifying glass, I was able to make out the maker, which I wrote down so I wouldn't forget, which I did and forgot where I wrote it down. IIRC it was made in the late 1770's.

Recently, my trip to the post office produced this multi tool, SCOUT KNIFE. It's OLD, RARE, and it becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the first example, of this particular pattern or style, to be added to my "foreign born" pocket knife accumulation. It is a WERWOLF, one blade, five tools (a cap lifter or bottle opener with screwdriver AND a PREST-O-LIGHT key, a can opener, and a punch or awl), one tang stamp, 3 3/4" closed (not including the bail), scouting or camping, pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp (VERY FAINT) says, "WERWOLF (over) CUTL. WORKS (over) GERMANY" The shield says, "SCOUT KNIFE" The main blade has a WEAK half stop. The main blade has a GOOD opening snap. The main blade has a GOOD closing snap. The tools open and close with no issues. The punch or awl is copper colored on the back. This pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. It did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures, they do NOT do this pocket knife any justice, and here it is.

Skip you find some of the most interesting and off the wall brands and patterns I’ve ever seen. Your collection is like cutlery encyclopedia. Thanks for posting these.
