According to the seller....the Spyderco is a clone. I'll tell ya, she's bad to the bone.
The Hindered, I could find a black on on alibaba. She's a small beast! And the belt clip is like Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....

A couple weeks ago I came across a swell center whittler that looked as if it had been made by Canal Street Cutlery. I was looking for leads here on AAPK when I came across a post Tom Chase had made in 2008 showing a Hobo knife CSC had done for A.G. Russell. I checked on Ebay the next day and I'll be darned if there wasn't one for sale. I was showing Tony/Schradenut what I had found and out of the blue he bought it and gave it to me.
So... Thank you Tom and Tony,
I've already decided this knife needs a display frame all it's own so it can hang on the wall right above my desk.

It's a 43. The 42 had amber composite handles.

not mail call, but I picked these up tonight at a show-
The pen is Carrier Cutlery Co./ Elmira NY c1900-1921. I'm not sure what the handles are, but it looks like beetles were lunching on it.

The barlow is Joseph Allen & Sons NON-XXL ; Sheffield, England c1810-1959.

Both have a lot of wear, but I like the age and the tight and snappy blades, and they are the first of each company that I have.

That's a couple good looking knives Lan, thanks for sharing.

What a wonderful find and fantastic gift Doug. Congratulations on adding that one to your collection. To be honest, I remember that knife but had forgotten about them. Be sure and follow up with a picture when you get it properly framed for display.

The Ganzo Firebird has a choil with jimping unlike a Delica. Much like the Byrd Meadowlark II.
They are an excellent knife and quite the bargain. I have several including a half serrated model with the front half sharpened on both sides.
I like that in a partially serrated knife.
Here is a plain edge, black. The 440c has been great on my user. [not this one]
Also the Ganzo/Byrds are about a 1/4" smaller closed than a Delica.

I arrived home last evening and found these in my mail basket.

Yeah, I forgot to also mention that there are plenty of fake PM2 and Hinderer knives. In fact, I would say the PM2 is probably one of the most commonly faked knives, along with the Chris Reeve Sebenza, Zero Tolerance ZT0808 and many others. The Ganzo's are not really "fakes" - they clearly brand the knives in their own name, and they usually aren't an exact copy of whatever they resemble. Ganzo has knives that owe their design to Benchmade, Pro-Tech, Spyderco, etc.

Just received this GEC Tidioute 541217 Big Jack wearing Cougar Clawed Bone.

Bruno, that Cougar Clawed Bone kinda' looks like Winterbottom Bone to me. That's a great looking knife!

I believe that's a 1980 "lightning bolt S" SR6220. I don't recall the smooth rose bone knives being made much before 1979, if at all. The color's been bleached out of those bones a fair bit but I have little doubt that the blade steel has lots of service left to offer.

Here are mine, identical 10-dot 1980 models except for the decision to go with the nickel-silver handle pins on the bottom knife.

I suspect that orange knife is a copy of the Spyderco Paramlitary 2. Some you need to see side by side with the real deal to be sure. I can promise you a true fake won't have real S30V steel. He is always bringing us excellent cutlery and frankly the baseline knowledge for an educated buy of a quality production knife like a HInderer or PM2 is already higher than it ever should have been, thanks to these clones/copies/fakes/whatever PC name is given to them by the initial buyers who enable their propagation in the hobby.

You are right (of course), I mistyped that year and it is certainly a 1980. And, yes, I knew the bone had been bleached out. In fact, when I first saw it, I thought it was an appaloosa bone until I saw it was an SR6220 instead of A6220.

My first Copperlock. Initial impression is that I will be using this often. Blade was okay sharp; easily improved. Lock needs a spot of oil.

I'm not normally a stockman guy, but I'm liking this Camillus #75 that was waiting for me when I got home. It feels really good in the hand. I did some digging in the Camillus catalogs and it looks like the #75 was dropped ~1975. It is shown in the 1973-74 catalog as a "Cattle Knife", but then it disappears from later catalogs and price lists. With all the variations in 3-blade knives Camillus produced, I find it curious that the #75 didn't make the cut after 1974 - I wonder why?

TFL, not sure why the Camillus #75 didn't get retained in the catalog. I own one myself and have always heard these referred to as a "Junior Cattle Knife" due to the less than 3-1/2" OAL. There are a lot more of them out there if you count the contract branded knives; I also own a HSB based on the same frame. Great knives, very snappy and well hafted. That is a nice example you have got there. OH
