Wow, those looks so smooth and elegant Railsplitter, beautiful minimalist straightforward. Great looking to me. I've seen lots of A.G. Russells, can't recall seeing this one before. Great pattern. So graceful. I hate to even ask where they were made though. The whole problem with this entire $%^#@! site is it's always making me want something else or another something that I've never seen before and that looks very appealing. The Siren song never ends, it just changes a little again and again.

That's a great little (3") pen knife, Rick. I was sorely tempted to get one of them myself because I love and collect AG Russell knives (even the ones he has made in China are top notch quality); but, I have such a hard time ordering direct from AG Russell anymore ever since they started charging $15.95 for shipping a number of years ago (it used to be $7.95). I would gladly pay the $41.95 asking price for the knife (which is a factory second price, BTW), but to add almost half again as much for shipping when I know it's possible to ship anywhere in the USA for less than $5.00 is a deal breaker for me no matter how much I like the knife.

Two Case knives today:

A 1970 (correction this is a 1980) SR6220 in smooth rose bone with CV blades & brass liners. It's not in great condition cosmetically, but it works great and I do love the goobers!
I also got a 2016 TB 61028 CV Tear Drop Jack in orange jigged bone. I'm not sure if I'm really loving this pattern, but I didn't have a Tear-Drop, so now I do!

Two Flowers, I love those little TDrops, the orange on that looks great too. That's one of my favorite blade shapes, kind of between almost a Wharncliffe, and almost a spear. Congrats, that's a looker. Pretty cool jigging too.

A Case that was saved by Dale and passed to me through the Jarhead network by way of Mike (313 Mike). 3-5/8" closed the snap is loud and sharp. Added to that is some historic stag handles that originally came from the Henckels factory. I will at some point carry this little beauty. In fact, I just now slipped it into my pocket. In addition, these four showed up. Left to right, they are:
Rough Rider RR098 Mini Trapper
Rough Rider RR280 Mini Trapper (red)
2017 Case LT207 SS Mini-Trapper (camo handles)
2014 Case 6207W SS Mini-Trapper Hunter Green handles and Worked Bolsters

Two Flowers, I have a TB teardrop with 2 blades and it is my Sunday-go-to-meetin' and town knife. It is a great little knife, good for cuttin' a steak at the restaurant or what ever with out drawin' a crowd. It rides in my left front pocket as access to my RFP is somewhat blocked by my 2nd Amendment right.
Jerry, That stag is great, what pattern was that one before Dale worked his magic? It also appears you've about cornered the market on Mini-Trappers. They are indeed a very handy size.

~Q~, My last order from A.G. Russell before this one was almost a year ago when I bought the first Pen Knife. I just checked my account and I was charged $8.95 both times for shipping. I agree that's pretty steep. Especially considering that he shipped First Class in a padded envelope. I know you are in Hawaii but I would think that the shipping should be the same. If he charges you more for that reason there is something wrong with that picture.

My knife arrived safe and sound but the box was all smashed up inside the envelope. Not a sturdy box to begin with though.

I used to be a frequent AG Russell customer...for several years in the early 1990s I regularly purchased at least one knife out of every catalog I received. But, when they suddenly doubled their shipping charge from $7.95 to $15.95, I called to complain and find out why (I was living in California at the time, so it had nothing to do with higher shipping costs to HI). I was told that they no longer did their own shipping in-house, they had begun using a third party shipping service and that's what caused the rate increase. I'm all in favor of providing more American jobs, sharing the wealth and keeping our money in America; but, at the same time, it's hard to pay a premium price for a standard service that many other companies provide for free--it's just the principle of feeling like I'm being overcharged that I object to. Normally, you'd think a better way to deal with the higher shipping cost would be to incorporate it into the price of the products, which is a fairly common industry practice. But AGR's prices are already somewhat on the high end as it is, so jacking up the knife prices may have actually lost more customers than increasing the shipping charge.

Just looked a AG latest catalog.. Standard shipping is $8.95 (4-8 business days).. Expedited shipping is $15.00 (3-4 business days).. Padded envelope sux.. John

Sooo.. I go to the MB and another AG catalog came.. 2018 Loyalty Discounts is on the cover and at the bottom is... $5.00 Flat Rate Standard Shipping.. Sooo.. There ya go!!! John

Ah hah. Gottcha. Good eye. It's a Ganzo Firebird F759M. Comes in several colors. Mine is orange.

Here's a little Queen that Scott came up with a few days ago. I'm not sure what pattern it is, a #42 or a #43, do know it's big brother is a #49 and both have the 1958-1960 tang stamp. I love the bleached out Winterbottom bone handles.

not mail call, but I picked these up tonight at a show-
The pen is Carrier Cutlery Co./ Elmira NY c1900-1921. I'm not sure what the handles are, but it looks like beetles were lunching on it.

The barlow is Joseph Allen & Sons NON-XXL ; Sheffield, England c1810-1959.

Both have a lot of wear, but I like the age and the tight and snappy blades, and they are the first of each company that I have.

Correct, the blue one is a Ganzo Firebird F759M. Not strictly a "clone", but let's just say it is HEAVILY "influenced" by the Spyderco Delica. The F759M is an excellent knife that I think is one of the best deals in all knifedom. It comes in a variety of colors.

The Hinderer is the top one. Rick Hinderer is one of the Big Names in modern tactical folders. He has his own high-end knife company, Rick Hinderer Knives, and he does MANY of the best selling Zero Tolerance & Kershaw knives. I'm not very familiar with his model numbers, but I think the name on the blade was something he used to do in prior years.
