Thanks, Tom. Unfortunately, Mini-T Monkey subsists exclusively on a steady diet of 07s (fresh or vintage, he's not picky about age, just condition).
Today, The Monkey is feasting on this delectable 107W that was modified by BIGHEAD (Barry) with Natural Jade G-10 covers and some fabulous fancy filework to add a dash of razzle-dazzle.
I think it goes without saying that The Monkey is over the moon with joy.
A shout out to Kevin (knifeaddict1965) for providing the "canvas" for Barry to create this gorgeous piece of one-of-a-kind cutlery art.

He did it again.

The monkey never seizes to amaze us with his finds!
Outstanding job BH!

That file work is something else Barry!

And the handles too!

Congrats on that fine looking overhaul Q... I figured it was just a matter of time before the Monkey would find something to do with that knife. Outstanding modification BIGHEAD!

Beautiful Mini-T art!
However, it did inspire me to briefly lust for a pearl 8107W. I do not recall if Q has posted a picture of one or not.

507W Pictures I have (actual knife in my collection...not yet), but I can't say I've ever seen or even heard of an 8107W (was that a typo, perhaps, or do you know something I don't?

) Now, The Monkey is all agitated and up in arms, insisting I find and get an MOP 8107W, STAT!! Thanks a lot!
I do have a 6107W that was modified into an Abalone (8)107W by Michael Prater, though
As you may or may not recall, I am not a fan of knives with more than two blades, and my preference is for knives with a single Wharncliffe blade. I had a three-blade 6307W with "Campfire Bone" (aka "Burnt Oatmeal") handle that I sold because it was too wide and ruined the slim Mini Trapper aesthetic that I like. However, I did keep this three-blade Mini-T with Natural/Antique laser etched "Rattlesnake" bone despite the unwieldy, awkward and ungainly width simply because I like the handle (the blade etch is kinda cool, too).
The only five-blade 07 I currently own is this Stag 5507 which I got because of the stag despite the fact that for some inexplicable reason it does not have a Wharncliffe blade (to the best of my Mini-T knowledge, the only five-blade Mini-T with a Wharncliffe blade is the MOP 8507W).

Easy does it Scott. Be careful that those 07's don't disturb the universe and you end up addicted to them. (ask me how I know

Case 5507 Stag.JPG
As far as I know pearl 8107W Mini-T knives only exist in lustful imagination.
With greater confidence I can agree that the only five blade Case Mini-Trappers with Wharncliffe blades are the pearl 8507 variety that you posted a picture of. They have the best selection of blades in any of Case's five blade Mini-Trappers. Most have the five blades that are in your 5507 which is not an efficient design. Three secondary blades hinged on one end leaves a lot of empty blade well space. However, I have one that, except for its Midnight Stag, is like yours. Mine is a user that I carried in a SAK pouch. The blades I used the most often were, in order, the sheep's foot, unexpectedly the small clip then the spey. I enjoyed it. Maybe someday I'll buy a 5507 in collector condition.
The three blade Mini-Ts are a more practical size. They'll fit in pockets as well as the very common Victorinox Camper and they include a Wharncliffe.
Like we've discussed before the 07 least likely to exist is a
*407 but I never expected to see a four blade Case Peanut before I saw the auction for the one I bought.

Wow!! That certainly got The Monkey's attention
I don't have any cap-lifter 07s, but I do have this 1985 IV207 with factory installed "fossilized mastodon" handle (Case's term, not mine - I had always thought that fossilized meant "turned into stone"...but what do I know?

)
Now that I've had a taste of your Mammoth mods, Barry, I'm considering having you outfit ALL my Mini-Ts with Mammoth.
I'm sure you could handle the job since I only have a couple hundred or so. (Not sure I could afford it, though

)

Gorgeous work Bighead. Thanks for showing this stuff we wouldn't otherwise see. Thanks for improving the knives you rehandle. That is fabulous and you have improved the knife world and this site and all these guys collections that the knives are going into. Great job, kudos, keep them coming and thanks for all the drool material. You're an artist with the tusk.

You're right. These days all these politically correct folks like to call it fossil, or those trying to sell ivory that's been banned, but it ain't fossilized. What it really should be called is mineralized. The minerals have invaded and infiltrated, stained and colored, but the ivory is still there. Fossil would be where ivory has been replaced by stone, minerals, etc and is not there anymore. Good to get the terms right. I see stuff called fossil regularly that is not fossilized and by mistake or deliberate deception they like to call mineralized ivory a fossil. But it's not a fossil. Beautiful Mastodon there Q. Wow.

jerryd, those are nice cap-lifter 07s. If only you'd had them back when you were in college, you would've been the most popular dude at all the frat parties, I think.
Although I generally tend to avoid synthetic handle materials, I'm starting to develop a liking for that Kirinite. Good looking stuff. I see that Case has just released a Smooth Caramel Swirl 207W with a Spay & Wharncliffe blade configuration which is unusual. Monkey like, Monkey want!!!
