I am venturing somewhat out of my realm with this one. I have a Remington Scout 4783 that is just beautiful and I admire the bone handles a great deal. This very morning I was admiring it and discovered a crack spring on the single main blade. Is it possible that some of you might have access to a replacement for it. I am heart broken as I really liked this knife and now this. I thought it was just a loose pin until I looked closer.

Any help out there?

A Camillus 3 pin Cub. First I've seen and am trying to figure out why it has these little metal tabs marked "press." I guess it sort of releases the tools. But why?

They are blade locks, like you would find on the TL-29's.

TJ: Kinda figured they were a type of lock but, well, they seem to me to make the knife more awkward for little cubbys. But I am sure the thinking was that any kind of lock would make the knife safer.

By the way, I truly enjoy watching you seasoned hands toss around the pattern designations like TL-29s. I always smile when I see that. Sort of like watching real slick gun handling with lots of twirls and flips before holstering the piece. And I promise myself I will one day be able to do that. At the moment however I couldn't distinguish a TL-29 from a B-29.

Most that you see are not truely TL-29's. TL-29 is the military designation for the lineman's or electrician's knife with the screwdriver blade. For civilian consumers Camillus called it a #27 and the other brands had a model number for them also. So, unless they were issued by the military/GSA they are not TL-29's, that just paints a picture.
