Scott, the Schrade Warden and the stockman from Germany look interesting, as does the little mini fixed blade with the sheath.

Today was a very interesting mail call - both are firsts for me!!
My first Ka-bar knife! A #1047 2-blade that I *think* is from the 70s according to the tang stamp (from my brief google searches, dating a Ka-bar seems to be tricky). I got this knife very cheap because someone really buggered-up the pen blade. I have no idea how they did that...
I also got my first Queen knife! A #4220 Peanut from the "Rawhide Series". This one is from 1982 and I also got this one cheap. The Queen Rawhide Series doesn't seem to be very desirable, and this example's obviously used condition seems to have made it even less desirable - which makes it perfect for me!

Girl Scouts but with out cookies came calling today. The leaders knife is marked Utica and the scout knife is marked Kutmaster. They both need a little cleaning up. A better time when little girls were encouraged to carry their own knife.

- Utica and Kutmaster Girl Scout knives.

Twoflowersluggage, it looks like those two would fit nicely in a pocket. Good finds.

You know, I don't think I have ever said this before, but I'm kind of hoping the purchases I made in the last week kind of spread out a little bit and don't get delivered all at the same time. Having a pile of 4 or 5 small padded envelopes and boxes all arrive on the same day just leads to questions I would rather not have to answer.
I never thought I would be hoping for the USPS to slow down a little...

Ha! I'm in a similar situation, but different. I have one knife on the way that should arrive either tomorrow or Thursday. It's the last knife I intend to buy for a couple months. I'm excited about getting it but on the other hand, I wouldn't mind too much if it took a day or three longer to arrive as I won't have anything to look forward to after that.

" It's the last knife I intend to buy for a couple months"
What happens if during these 2 months you see a very special knife, say a GEC Whaler with ivory handles and a BIN of $300 ? Wouldn't you HAVE to buy it ? It's probably worth 3-4 x the asking price.
If you are truly serious, best to not look at knives on ebay until the 'cease buying' directive is dropped.

It's not a financial decision or even a necessity of any kind. I just feel like I need to slow down as I've been getting a little carried away lately. My plan is to focus on selling a few instead of buying a few. I enjoy selling too although not as much as buying. It helps feed the fever a little bit and still keeps me active.
But yes, if I see a knife that I absolutely must have I'll be on it like...............well, you get my point.

You guys kill me. That's rich. I laughed and laughed because we're birds of a feather. On the rare occasion I buy two the same week or close together, it is a real bummer and let down when they come the same day. Absolutely better if the joy is spread out over different days. And yeah, when I know it's going to be a month or two before the next knife I can afford, I don't mind if it's delayed a week. A week I tell ya. KJ, you obviously don't have the problem we have. If I saw that knife you describe, I wouldn't be able to get it. If my funds are gone, my funds are gone, until I make more, or sell something to compensate, I have to decline. Unlike some I can't buy every knife I like. Limits you know. Budgetary constraints, marital smooth sailing, kids college fund.....

It's the last knife I intend to buy for a couple months.
Each of the five knives I bought in the last week was "the last knife I intended to buy for a couple of months"...

I've given up hoping for the USPS to ever deliver in a manner that is best for me.
I have had packages take forever to show up and I've had packages arrive early.
The "worst" combination of deliveries was the time I picked up over 40 "sharp & pointies" at one time.
I had several knives have delayed shipping due to sellers being out of pocket for a bit, a long holiday weekend, some knives arriving on time, USPS somehow getting a few knives from the far reaches of the nation in early and 4 or 5 coming in from the UK/Poland/France that had extended shipping times.
I went to the PO and found 3 drop box keys in my box and multiple "package too large" cards for some swords/machetes/sword bayonets coming in and some signature required cards.
The PO clerk came out pushing one of those big 4 wheel canvas carts full of boxes. I then finished filling it up with the packages out of the drop box. Came home with the whole back seat full of knives and swords.
When I got home, I just pulled around back and packed the whole pile straight to the shop. Took me over 3 hours to unbox, examine, oil and tag them all. It was kind of disappointing really. Rather than getting to "savor" them one or two at a time and appreciate them for a while, I had a "sharps overload" moment.
The good news is that being single, I don't don't have to justify my purchases to any one. As long as I can pay the bills, no one cares what I do.

Me too. Being single is a big help towards being an out of control knife collector.
As for funds i have a line of credit from when i did have an income that justified the bank's granting this L of C.
I ran it up to about $55,000 buying knives. Now i am selling the knives to pay it off. The advantage of having this L.of C. is that i can use it to buy almost any knife whenever it shows up. The disadvantage is going into debt.
