Matthew 18:1-3
βAt that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, 'Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?' And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, 'Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."

Decided to drive to Roy's for lunch today, love their roast beef sandwich. Noticed some smoke at Western Maryland Station so I parked, walked over and took a few short vids of WMSR 1309 with a Chesapeake and Ohio tender scheme, which it originally was back in it's service days.

I am not a train enthusiast but one of my hobbies is turning on a lathe. Penn State Industries just came out with a locomotive pen kit. If anyone here turns pens they may want to check these out.

THe RF&P was absorbed into CSXT. I do very little railfanning now, so little variety. Shortlines are the only interesting operations left. OH

I am a railfan from the first layout my pop bought me way back when. It was a tyco gp-something with a few cars and an over/under figure 8 layout. .
I think I still have the engine.
I haven't had a layout for many years and finally left my two l-girder table systems up in Illinois when we moved.
I used to take my son on train hunting adventures. We lived not too far from the main Santa Fe route from Chicago to San Bernardino, and by Houlihan's Curve if anyone is familiar.
We caught the mail train meeting the Chief one cold January day. This was our first sighting of the then-new Genesis engines! We were both very excited to see it!
Today I live near Cowan TN near a helper yard where CSX has pushers waiting to help trains up over the Cumberlands near Chattanooga etc. There is a neat old tunnel near here but I haven't been there yet.
I caught the following fast local a few days ago heading north out of Estill Springs TN.
Welcome to the club, Andy! You just needed to add a "watch?v=" after the "/."
I love trains and modeling, going to the big TCA show in York, PA tomorrow.
John

I grew up in Greenville NC and our town was served by two railroads, the Norfolk Southern Railway (original but later acquired by Southern Railway, nowadays a short line) and the Atlantic Coast Line, later part of Seaboard Coast Line and nowadays CSXT. A friend took these pictures in 1967, I was about 11-12 at the time, but an avid railfan, watching the lines and yards whenever I could. OH

Not an enthusiast, but I grew up in a small town, Rochelle, IL (the βHub Cityβ] which has a place you need to visit if you are an enthusiast!

I haven't gone out of my way to get any train pics lately, which means I don't see much other than UP or BNSF coal trains, or CN tankers going to or from Chicago.
I did want to share this pic that I ran across while reading up on Erie Railroad. I would love to have been around when scenes like this were commonplace. I only have vague memories of the last few years of steam locomotives.
