gdogg,
That is pretty neat! Was that a kit or a "real" project? Is there a door? Inquiring minds need to know. :)

Wait G-dog! You get a spot in the house to display your knives? What's that like?

Seriously, that's a cool display, congrats!

Ken, I have one of those RR1711s and keep it here on my desk to play with. I like the blade profile and the look of the handles but am not too fond of the feel of the handles. I think I already told you I considered buying more to give as gifts but just haven't done it so I'm cooling off on that.

These came in yesterday's mail. The RR1108 Doubletake is nothing more than a curiosity. At 4" closed, it's huge. It's unwieldy and would be cumbersome to try and use. If you open more than one blade at a time, you run the risk of losing a finger but it's kind of neat to look at.

I'm not sure what the attraction was for the RR1185 Dog Bone. Maybe it was the little whistle. ::shrug:: Maybe it was just the post Christmas, first of the year wanna's. The pull on the secondary blade is stiff and the blade is really sharp so you need to watch your P's & Q's when you open it. Not sure why but the little booger has a half-stop. The main blade doesn't. Strange.

I've purchased a few of those dog bone jacks, they make great gifts, the ladies really like them. Doesn't take long for the whistle lanyard to break off.

Steve, they are different.

Ken, do you find that little bitty spey blade secondary kind of stiff to open (and just a tad dangerous)?

You can never go wrong with a Camco Barlow, but that Winchester is a sweet old curiosity, definitely a pattern you don't see all that much and some nice old bones to boot. Great pickups! ::tu::

My copy seems to be "normal," that is, nothing out of the ordinary. The small spey blade does have a half stop.
I don't recall if I've ever carried it or not, but it has not been sharpened yet. I think I'll give it a little pocket time tomorrow. :)
