tvic, I like that shot, two beauties.
Nice group of three Q. It's nice seeing different looks on the same pattern. And the black and white pair is quite striking. Beautiful old knives.

The green G10 version of this pattern arrived. Must say it looks good on this knife. It's slightly translucent, that's a plus. I kind of prefer the texture of the rough canvas micarta though. It sticks to your hand. The G10 is smooth. I've had G10 in the past that was much more rough finish and it does provide better grip so the slick G10 will take some getting used to. Never had it this texture before. But that barely matters. Overall couldn't be happier with the Cazadors.

Ha, ha, ha! I might have known! In the other thread you showed the black composite knife Glenn commented he had only ever seen them in Ivory like material, then I flip over here and sure enough, you have one! Great looking set! 8)

#3 is maroon micarta. Completes the set. I really like these knives and am impressed with everthying about the two green ones. The G10 and the OD green canvas exceeded expectations. Love them with a capital L. And I really like the maroon and gold too. Love it. But the pocket clip. I don't get that. And that's small potatoes to me since I usually take them off anyway, but it's a bit disappointing next to the other two beauties. Love the blue clips. Just me.

Thanks Marco, you too Waukonda. Very kind of you. I was impressed with them and for seventy clams you can get the maroon micarta from SMKW. Definitely worth that in my book. The green G10 was seventy five and green canvas eighty five. A lot of knife for that. Thanks again both of you.

Sweeter is right. I don't know if you're looking for one, but this knife seems like something you might like. One hand open, smooth as silk open and close, bank vault lock up, easy open and built solid where it matters. Thick liners and blade stock. Very well built IMHO. I am continueing to be impressed with them. Very well engineered and constructed. Very smooth, graceful curves and lines, impeccable taste in aestetics. Great grip on the micarta versions. G10 a little less so but still better grip than say smooth bone or MOP. I am loving them. Thanks again.

Thanks for the in depth explanation bud! ::handshake:: As much as you're correct that it's my kindda knife it has features that would have it seized by Customs, i.e. the flipper tab and undoubtedly assisted opening, as well as I've never cared for the look a knife has when it's open and the flipper tab is exposed right below the pivot, I like em' when the tab is covered by the body. Perhaps you can see what I mean from my pictures, in the closed position the flipper tab is sticking up slightly at the top which is necessary to open the blade, but after it's open the tab is concealed by the body of the knife leaving it with a smooth clean appearance. The knife is an Al Mar designed Kershaw assisted linerlock that I bought in Canada, so no Customs! 8)

I hear you there Marco. Agreed. The thing I like about this flick lever is that when open it becomes a finger guard behind the choil. I happen to like the way it feels and it's in a place where it doesn't bother me. Might bother some for how far it sticks out if you like laying the knife down on the cutting board and having it touch your fingers instead of the guard, but so far it doesn't get in my way at all. Not something that disappears like the one you showed there I know. But so far, not in my way. Thanks for the comparison and I admit the one you have there is going to have nothing in your way. You nailed that. Just havent' found this one to be in the way. Appreciate your take though. Have a great one.

I wasn't sure if my explanation was clear bud but you got it right away, as-a-matter-of-fact the way you described it is actually easier to understand than what I stated. You make a strong case for overlooking the aesthetics feature I don't care for with your statement regarding it being an excellent finger guard for safety reasons, I didn't actually even think of that. It's such a small thing that I probably should be able to get past my quirk of wanting everything to be straight and clean looking on my knives, but so far I haven't. I think this obsession of mine started when I saw the flipper on the knife in the picture below, who's look almost makes me physically ill I dislike it so much, and, I feel it was totally unnecessary. I'm thinkin' it might be an ADHD thing! At one point I was contemplating grinding the flipper off, but it's solid SS and 1/4" thick, and I don't currently have enough cutting wheels to do the 3 knives I have with that feature. Plus, unless they were done perfectly it could make the knives look even worse. They're all inexpensive knives and I do have my models that don't have the extended flipper but instead have nice clean profiles, so I'll probably just leave them alone but won't likely be spending much time with those models. As well as what I've already said, you actually use your knives everyday so a safety feature like that is of course useful to you, whereas my knives are never used so all the emphasis for me is on looks. Don't they say variety is the spice of life? LOL! 8)
WIN_20220619_14_48_07_Pro.jpg
I was thinking that in the closed position it doesn't look too bad, but even in that state that big ugly flipper still protrudes above the bolster ear!
WIN_20220619_14_47_24_Pro.jpg
Then, in the open position it sticks out from the tang making it obtrusive and butt-ugly! 8)
