All About Pocket Knives

I have always liked this thread. You guys send each other knives out of the friendship on this site. Very cool.
I've been looking for someone to drop a bomb on and finally found a target. I did a trade with a gentleman and found a note with the knife I got. He told me that he collects Barlows with his daughter. Now that is really cool! He also sent me a neat tin, as seen in the pic below.

Randy, it was kismet. I picked up two cross peen hammers a few years ago, intending to do some knife work. But like most plans these days, the enthusiasm petered out before the plan came to fruition. I saw your post and immediately knew where that hammer's rightful home was. On top of that, I had the perfect box for it. Enjoy and I hope you get years of use out of it.

It's a bomb that I knew was coming, after all Lee (JTX) pm'd me for my mailing address.

I love anything to do with paracord and Lee gifted me with these 5!

This is a very special place! Knives and other things are always flying around all over the world unexpectedly. I think it is with out a doubt the caliber of the people that land here at AAPK. Deserving targets all. Rock on gentlemen!

I didn't just get bombed today, I got NUKED!!!! See that fella up there. The one that posted right above by the name of Greg (gsmith7158). Yeah, that's him. He sent me what he's calling a belated birthday present. Now I don't deserve a birthday present, belated or otherwise but ya got to take 'em when ya get 'em. My jaw is still dragging the ground. When I opened this I was totally bumfuzzled and dumbfounded. WOW!!
A Northwoods (I'm gonna call it a Wharncliffe half-whittler) which I think KSF called a Willamette Whittler. She's 3-7/8" closed and I believe clothed in beautiful Cocobolo. What a sweetheart. I've admired these since they first came out. The other is a spring assisted modern USMC knife with wood handles and a black-washed spear blade. Explodes out of the gate with just a flick of my finger. Is there anyone here that doesn't know I love anything with the Marine Corps emblem on it?

You're right, Randy. I do like the Kershaw 3000s and I did not have a 3000 Sabertooth. Thanks to the generosity of #goldpan (Randy), I do now.

Looks like Randy is in a very generous mood this week. I got this bomb from him today. I have seen it before and I think it's probably one of the first 72 rehandled he did. I feel honored and very proud that he would gift this knife to me. Randy you are a giant among men. Thank you my friend!

It's not a knife but it's still a bomb. Richard (bladeguy58) mentioned in a post that he collects flashlights. I've been Jones'in for one of those small, high illumination jobber dewys but have no frame of reference for Lumens or any of the other specifications for individual models - SO - I posed a few questions to Richard about what models might fit my needs (lumens, price, rechargeable, etc). That rascal comes back with, "What's your address? I'll just send one of mine to you." Well, that was totally unexpected and I thought to protest but my favorite cousin has been drumming into my head for a few years, "If someone offers to give you something (or pay for a meal), just take it, say thank you and shut your mouth." So I did.

As I was walking out the door on Thursday for a little road trip which included a visit with my favorite cousin, UPS dropped this off. Holy cats! Is this sucker BRIGHT!! Makes my old knock your brains out, 3-cell Mag-lite look like a pen light. The casing on it is anodized, machined aluminum. It's 4½" long, 350 Lumens, uses three replaceable AAA-Batteries and has three settings. I like it. A lot!! Where have you been all my life sweet baby?

Jerryd will there be room on that key ring full of gadgets that you tote around? Excellent bomb!

Those small high tech flash lights are fantastic in my book! When My granddaughter went away to college I bought her a small one like that to carry with her keys. I also got her one that is three times the size and has a skull crusher pommel on it. Good protection, blindingly bright! Those university campuses can be dangerous places at night..... Great bomb Jerry!
