Paul, that is surely an outstanding trapper. Here is an earlier one that is a bit different.

Paul,that looks quite familiar.
There's this guy I know, he hooks me up with the good stuff.
Thanks for the comments guys.
John they are identical patterns. Nice one you have there. Do both blades have half stops?
Paul ,had to find it, neither blade has a half stop.

Thanks Cal. I wonder if yours could have been contract made for schrade? It has a different look altogether. Is the frame 3 7/8''?

This one I just got has them. I used to have one that was a little newer, red peachseed and saber main with federal shield and plain bolsters. I can't recall if it had half stops or not, it may have not.

I am not aware that Schrade CutCo ever had anyone else do anything for them except fixed blades. Here is the catalog cut and it is the same knife. Obviously mine does not have threaded bolsters or the shield, but that is common departure for those pesky old knives. Never quite right. Nail nicks are different also.

You can see a similar kind of swedging on this CutCo switchblade. I can't believe that anyone else made them.

I don't actually know the deal with your trapper, these are speculations. It just looks a little different, (not in a bad or suspicious way) and the bone is definitely not of the standard schrade styles.
I know for sure there were some folding knives made on contract for schrade cut. I've seen one owned by Charlie C. It was either a barlow or cattle knife, I think utica made.

Very interesting speculations. Never thought about it before. Thanks for the food for thought!

F7426 as listed in the 1926 catalog on page 34 has a spear blade and a sharp nail-file blade. The tip is not dull like on later files. The knife has half-stops, MOP handles, nickle-silver pins and brass liners. I cut my finger making it crocus-polished two-sides but it was worth the effort.

Picked up a Schrade Cut Co boys knife that still has its bail and is almost unused, last pic shows it next to one without a bail, same knife.

Picked up this Schrade Cut Co curved jack with some type of synthetic handles. 3 5/8". Pretty much unused but suffered from corrosion.
Etch is Arnold,Hoffman&Co Inc which was a dye manufacturer that traced it's roots back to 1815 and was around until the early 1990's
I don't remember seeing this pattern all that often.

This one came in yesterday and I decided to put some nice edges on it so it could be carried. Dandy little jack knife.

Well I'm new here so I hope I'm posting in the right place and that you can see the attachments. I got this knife in a batch of TSA knives and I can't identify it. It's an Imperial Prov RI camper style knife with sheep foot blade and a screw driver blade. Drop me a line if you know what this is. Thanks
Dave

So I've been pretty good lately but this 861 showed up on ebay and I couldn't help but send an offer. Got it for a great price.
Somewhere along the line it had a bad sharpening job, even touched a grinder, but I got that straightened out and will now carry it occasionally. Thankfully they didn't scratch up the blades terribly. Really snappy and smooth as butter, just so well made. It's a nice supplement to the one I have that is in perfect condition.

Scott, that’s a nice one! I’ve been gathering up several of those for a special nephew. He’s close to 50 and has carried the same 3 OT since school. Needless to say the little knife is well used. He asked if I could find a real one, not China made. I didn’t realize what a comfortable little carry they are. I scratched around and found 3, one for him and one each for his preteen sons.

I bought this one from a member here. It is very unique in that the blades are very different from each other; not in their shape, but in their interface. One blade has a long pull; the other a nail nick. The nail nick has a halfstop; the long pull does not. And they both use the same back spring. Why??? I don’t know
I know that the later models of this pattern have nail nicks on both blades with no halfstops...just weird, but very cool.
