It must be great having a twin brother and especially one as thoughtful as that.

::tu:: We've had a lot of fun over the years when we were much younger. We don't look as 'identical' today as we did back then. We fooled girlfriends, friends, school teachers (traded classes several times where we were better in some courses than others). I can't tell you how many times people have asked us; "are you two twins?" We would just laugh and say; "nope, we were just born this way."

Thanks for the thoughts, Jerry. ::handshake::

But tell me KLJ77, do y'all know who is who in the picture? I suppose the mustache is so you know who is who. ::hmm:: ::poke::

Thanks, Treefarmer...and yes, he does have good taste.

As to the photo of us...I've always had a stache, but he doesn't grow one due to his job working in a meat department. He's done that for over 50 years. And no, I don't color my hair, in case someone was wondering. ::shrug::

I mentioned this one elsewhere, but I'll share here anyway. Got this mini Spitfire for my wife, but I like it so much I'm tempted to get one just like it for me, or maybe the larger 722. Even with the engraving it got here in 8 days. Not bad Buck!

Y'all are making this really hard to hold off on. LOL
That orange is nice, I have a 770 in that color.
I see the blue on the custom knife order on the Buck site, that will be a nice one.

Thanks LJ. I appreciate your heads up. I saw that but I have all of them except the black one, the blue one & the black/white one and at this time it doesn't interest me.

LJ, although I am very Hunter oriented in my fixed blade knives the Buck tactical style knives can really be head turners - like your birthday gift. Very nice! OH

Thank You, OH, for the thoughts & comment. I agree, although I too am 'hunter' oriented, so this one would never reach the woods.

I think I may have forgotten to share this one as I bought it for the expressly utilitarian purpose of all-terrain chopper for a go-bag.

TB,

Those 619's are great knives. You have the 'Woodsmate' model. (Black Kraton handle) Those were made from 1986 - 1996. There was another model 619 called the "Gamemate", and I believe sold exclusively through BassPro shops and had the Olive Drab Kraton handle. There were made from 1985 - 1988. The Kraton handles on them are rugged and tough.

Thanks for the info, KLJ! ::handshake:: If I had to make a guess, I'd say it's more a faded OD green than black. Well, I guess it could be VERY faded black, too; I don't have any green Kraton to compare... it's 'blah grey' right now or, if you prefer, "just drab, hold the olive."

The weight of the handles is a selling point; it pitches the balance of the knife towards the blade but it's a great way to carry such a large and sturdy hunting knife without a big weight sacrifice. The MIL-K it is joining in my Oh Spit Bag might account for nearly as much mass as the Buck. ::smirk::

Thanks TB for the BD wishes. Appreciate it. ::handshake::

Your handle is definitely black. If it was OD, you would know it. BTW, are you aware that the blade is the standard blade Buck uses for the Buck 119? You have a very sturdy knife in great condition.

Here's a photo of another 619 like yours, and a 639 with OD handle.
