May be giving us a puppy in Dec. A full breed Chihuahua but without papers.
I know most folks don't care for them but hey, the price is right & I didn't want any more large dogs anyways. I have known a couple of Chihuahua's and they were pretty cool characters. Don't want to get my hopes up to much. We will see if we get one or not.

Tom, you and Jake make quite a duo. Personally, I wouldn't be much concerned about papers. I've known "papered" dogs who had plenty of problems. If there are any health certificates available they may be of value to you.

Chihuahuas usually latch on to one family member and develop a very close bond. I knew a chihuahua and a German Shepherd who were good buddies but the chihuahua was the boss, completely dominated the Shepherd. Also, Just yesterday I saw a series of videos of dogs reacting to an aggressive intruder entering the house. These were both actual security videos and some staged events. Almost all the dogs failed to defend.
Only a Great Dane and a chihuahua responded aggressively. The Dane was initially passive and let the real burglar pet him. But when the lady of the house screamed upon seeing the man, the Dane instantly lept into action grabbing the intruder's butt and escorting him out the door.

The chihuahua was immediately aggressive keeping itself between the bad guy and his mistress. Didn't back done at all. Good dog.

Most of my life I favored large breeds. But I learned to appreciate the many virtues of the chihuahua.

Our niece and her husband have a chihuahua named Peaches. When we visit them the dog barks when we come to the door, then growls at us when we come in. If I try to talk to her or pet her, she growls. About 10 minutes later she’s sitting on the floor beside me. Then she is in my lap, and after that she’s my “new best buddy”!

The next time we visit, the same routine starts all over again.

LOL! Was looking at dog names all evening and one of my favorit ones was Peaches. That's funny!

I wanted Case or Casey for no particular reason but the kids were on to me.

We'll see if we get one or not. But if I pick out a name, I need a dog right? Of course Jake is my best buddy but there is still enough room for another best buddy or a little sweetheart.

I knew a chihuahua named Pulgarcito which is TomThumb in English.

Here are my two indoor cats Penny and Jack. Both are rescued cats. Jack was full grown when we got him and about a week later we were cleared to adopt Penny. She was just a kitten. Jack didn’t want anything to do with her at first but she moved in and would sleep right on his belly. He use to bite her and kick her but she persisted. As you can see many years later, about 8 years and she is still cuddling up with him. Jack is the black and white cat and Penny is the gray, black and white cat.
Below that is a picture of my girls. Scout is the Golden and Bristol is the one that looks like she has a cigar in her mouth. She spends most of her waking hours walking around with something like this in her mouth.

My little blur Button is either this, cuddling on my lap, or sleeping/napping with me. Toddlers are just a bundle of energy, she's plum wore me out!

Mark and Willy, great looking companions. Bristol is a kick; sort of like a person who is constantly chewing on a cigar.

Cool name! Picking out names is always something fun to do. I enjoy it.
I found some cool names yesterday evening.
A few that I like are "Peaches", "Maui" & "Chewy". Among others.
But in the end, I have to convince 5 people it's the right name.
Case & Casey were already turned down.
