Today we have a 2006 S&M 042151 in rich Mahogany Jigged Bone. (Note the closely spaced grooves on the bolster)
You've been posting some Fantastic Mini-Ts, Q! Love those Gorgeous Bones  and the Swaged Clip they use on that 51 pattern! ::tu::

I love the Mahogany handles - kind of a classic beauty, isn’t it! Beautiful, Q! ::tu::

Mahalo Kevin & Tim ::handshake:: ::handshake::

I also love the swaged clip blade, especially with the long pull on the 1991 Series 1. In the early 2000s, Queen replaced the long pull on the #51 with a nail nick, but fortunately they kept the swage (at least for a few more years anyway).

Here's another 042151 from 2006. They called the jigged bone on this one Boysenberry.

2006 was a good year for S&M Mini-Ts....here's another #51 from that year with glass-smooth Brown Bone (note the 02 prefix in the pattern number which designates smooth bone as opposed to jigged bone which is 04)

Today’s PER DIEM is a double dose of Queen #51 Mini-Ts with wood handles and pen secondaries instead of spay blades, (which would make their pattern number 51T).

Cocobolo and Curly Zebra

My St. Patrick's DIEM Mini-T was this 2002 Schatt & Morgan #052151 with Spalted Green Maple Burl Wood handle. Note the nail nick instead of a long pull and the absence of a swage and also a shield.....I guess they didn't want anything to cover the highly figured spalt swirls. At least they kept the double groove threaded bolster. Also, note the pattern number prefix "05" which is the number S&M used to designate wood.

Mahalo, Kerry ::handshake:: BTW.....ever since I bought my first Case 6207 in 1976 at age 11, I have had a continuous love affair with Mini Trappers. The size and shape just naturally appeal to my aesthetic more than any other pattern. I guess you could say they bring me a sense of satisfaction and comfort; so, this is the thread where I post my "comfort knives." :D

Since I'm already taking a stroll down nostalgia lane remembering the knife that started my Mini-T addiction.....today's Mini TrapPER DIEM comes from right around the same era of that fateful day I let Mini-T Monkey climb on my back for what I thought would be just a short ride. Little did I know then how that single moment of indulgence would affect the rest of my life ::doh::

I have owned many different brands of Mini Trappers from just about every company that ever manufactured the pattern, but my favorites are the minis made by Queen. Fun fact: Queen actually made two different sizes of Mini Trappers: pattern #51 which is 3½", and pattern #9155 at 3 3/8". This one is the little brother #9155 from the 1977 Master Cutler Series with Rogers Bone handle scales. (The hand-stitched, glove leather pocket slip is an unmarked Tom Cosgrove Jr custom prototype ::tu:: )

The Mini TrapPER DIEM for today is branded with the Robeson company name, SurEdge trademark, and Poketeze shield but the experts tell me it was actually made by Queen.

When I first started collecting knives many years ago, I naturally believed that a company’s name on a knife meant that the knife was made by that company. When I learned that this was not necessarily true, I didn’t like it; seemed dishonest and deceptive. Made no sense to me that a company would make a knife and put another knife company’s name on it--really felt like false advertising.

Even after years of knowing how common the practice was and is in the cutlery industry, I still don’t especially like it. But, it is what it is and even though this Mini Trapper isn’t a “real” Robeson product, I still like it. In fact, it’s possible I like it even more ::undecided::

Today’s Mini TrapPER DIEM is another Queen Mini-T Jr: the 3 3/8” #9155. This one has some of the nicest jigged bone I’ve ever seen on a Queen.

Today's Mini TrapPER DIEM is far and away, hands down, undeniably, irrefutably, universally acknowledged as the BEST Mini Trapper EVER made in the whole wide world!!! ::woot:: and I dare anyone to suggest otherwise ::sotb::

Anybody else fortunate enough to own one of these sweet pieces of Mini-T perfection? :)

It would be hard to refute your passionate argument for the BEST Mini-T EVER, Q, and from my limited experience, I would have to agree 100%.
I have been fortunate enough to score a couple from a good friend you may know, and they are BEAUTIFUL.

Those are gorgeous, Kevin ::tu:: Clearly you get it ::nod:: and apparently speak fluent Mini-T as well 8)

For today’s M-T PER DIEM I present a 1992 S&M 042151 that has been rehandled in cocobolo. This Mini-T is proof positive that a knife with “good bones” can also have a wood handle

Mahalo, Tim ::handshake:: And, no surprise at all that you own a few Mini Trappers.....in fact, for a man of your exquisite taste, erudition and sophistication, the only surprise would be if you didn't own any  Your 2021 Case Caribbean Blue Sawcut 6207 is a bona fide true blue beauty 8)

Looks like I made a mistake in selecting today's Mini TrapPER DIEM ::uc:: I went with this 1992 S&M strawberry red 042151 which has a pen secondary when what I really needed was a true trapper with a spay blade.....or as The Monkey affectionately calls it, "a jam spreader" ::dang::
