That old knife is perfect. Full blades and beautiful bones. ::tu::

That is a great piece you've got there, J.O.! I own one Barnsley, and it is the only one that I have ever seen up close. The fact that they were a short lived, Midwest firm makes them of special interest to me. If I recall, they also had some history with Case, but who didn't? Anyway, thanks for bringing that one out for show. ::tu:: ::tu::

They had their own manufacturing facility. Here is the entry in Goins, and an old picture that I just downloaded.

Yale Brand. Goins lists it from 1930 - 1950. I couldn't find any other info about this mark.

That is a good looking barehead. I would guess it to be from the early portion of that 20 year date range.

One oddity.......did you notice the spelling of the name on their building in that old photo? It is Barnesley with an "e" which isn't found on the tang stamped Barnsley. I have seen news stories from that time period in which the name is spelled both ways, which brings up the question of whether or not there are knives out there stamped Barnesley. Obviously, at some point the decision was made to drop that e in the name.

Good eye Ike.
I've probably seen that picture a dozen times and never noticed.
