That 18 Coyote is a dandy, Q!

Thanks, Glenn, I was worried that it might be too small; but, it's actually a very nice size for a small (under 3" closed) knife.

Crushed it on the stag, Q. Someone must have squirreled that 18 away from last year's first run. If I'd have seen it available I would have gotten it over the serialized natural stag example I ended up buying just on sheer looks alone.

The 18 frame is really underappreciated, IMO. I thought it would have a much better reception from peanut and dogleg enthusiasts. It's always in consideration for a watch pocket carry and I wear jeans pretty much all the time.

Great Coyote Q, congrats. Beautiful scales and looks like a great pattern for pocket friendliness.

Minus the hole in the blade those are some decent knives for "parts" knives.

The rest of you fellas are picking up some GREAT lookin' knives. (I need a better job)

My obsession to rusty and strange cutting objects gets a pathological form.

Eustace: Any idea what that was designed to cut? I'm thinking something thick like sugar cane.

I have never seen one of these. I am wondering about the two holes. Maybe you have a choice of which one you hinge the knife on, in a set-up like a paper cutter, where you can chop two different thickness of .... something.

We do not have sugar cane here, and I don't know how to cut it. But this tool has a forward weight, and in the hand it creates a feeling of an ax. The blade appears to have been hard used, but the hits are concentrated in the front 10-15 cm. It is more likely to be used for cutting branches, shrubs and small trees. Tomorrow I'm going fishing and I'll try it.

And I think, this thing 50-60 years ago was part of an agricultural machine. Or something else. A blacksmith with strange ideas took it and forged a tool with soul of parang and behavior of ax. Тhe two holes are a memory of his previous life.

Got two today the first case xx 74 pretty bone Jack I’m super happy with. The second a brand new GEC Churchill 35 cougar claw is horrendous the bone and jigging is sweet but the spring is so ridiculously soft there is barely any snap, see the pic of it not closing. I am really disappointed in this one. Before everyone tells me I know how to break a knife in and believe me I tried, there is nothing obstructing the blade it’s just piss poor weak. ::bummed:: probably just gonna send it back but never shoulda passed quality control like this I really wanted the stag version of this but having second thoughts now

That is a real bummer Gino. I hope you at least get a good customer service response. Let us know. I have the impression, perhaps mistaken,
that the transition between scale and bolster is not as smooth as it ought to be; particularly at the master blade end of the knife. [?]

Great looking one Gino, sorry about the snap. Over the years I've had 2 with weak snap from GEC out of maybe 20. One I sent back, the other I just lived with because otherwise the knife was flawless. After a while it got better, it took time, time and patience and didn't happen for a while, but it did get noticeably better. Nevertheless, I eventually I learned that although I love good snap and am disappointed in knives without, it did not affect the use of the knife. Still has no wobble, solid lock up open, smooth sweet operation and everything else perfect. So I lived with it and now know it does not hurt the performance of the knife at all. Was all in my head. The knife is great and I wouldn't give it up now because everything else is so good. Obviously this might not help you and don't know how the rest of the knife is, but that's my 2 cents on weak snap closed.

Gino, I feel for ya, man. Nothing quite like disappointment with a new knife; kind of feels like a trust has been violated, and that always stings. I guess it's just one of the unfortunate aspects of buying online without being able to handle the knife before handing over your money. Although it's little consolation and a lot of hassle, at least you should be able to get a replacement or a refund.

I've been on a bit of a Copperhead bender lately. This Smooth Oiled Bone Schatt & Morgan #41 is my latest Copperhead (and probably last S&M for awhile).
