Collecting GECs isn't the only brand that can break the bank. I recently got this Case Copperlock auto conversion mod (from an AAPK member) that'll have me licking my financial wounds for awhile. But, absolutely worth every penny, IMO, just as long as my wife doesn't find out how much I spent on it (if she does, I'll be licking some very different types of wounds!)

Thanks, everyone.

I must admit, though, when I saw it here on AAPK, it was instant love but I had to use my "emergency" credit card to pay for it. So, now I'm scrambling to sell some other knives before the CC statement arrives and I have some 'splaining to do to the missus. ::paranoid::

Dale, it's antique stag that was reclaimed from an old (early 1900's) butcher's knife.

Whoever built it sure knows how to make a great knife out of a nice knife! OH

Here's a link to the maker's website http://www.tbarkcustomknives.com/ I looked into his knives a while back.

They went the extra mile on that one Q. Gorgeous stag, good filing, auto, fob. Everything nice, congrats on an insanely cool knife. Wooooooooow.
Meanwhile not so fab, but a sweet old Pal came and made my day. Great shape and GEC or '60-70s Case like snap and action, feel and build quality. And less dough than anything you can get from GEC.

Ivoryman,
You shouldn't be wavin' that thing around, everybody will want a Pal! That is a nice one, I like 'em cause they don't show up too often and when they do they are affordable. Again, that one is a real beauty!

I hear that Treefarmer, you're right but that's just one of the costs of doing business on AAPK. I agree. I just like to see the cool ones you and others post. Figure I should return the favor now and then. And if someone out there starts seeking Pals, well I can't blame them. It's for a good reason. And good luck to them, but I'll warn you right now you might have to outbid me for it.

I'm liking the secondary pen blade - it's really stout on the 62032 (almost a sheepsfoot)... becoming one of my fave patterns:

That is a killer knife QT. It is one of those knives where a guy might say if I could only own that one I'd be done collecting, right? :D
Sweet pick-up there on that knife also Ivoryman.
Nice jack knife there as well Lansky.

These 3 arrived on my porch yesterday, two RR whittlers and a big ole Schrade I-XL Wostenholm stock knife. Although I acquired the stockman at a very reasonable cost I don't think I'll be carrying it just yet, I want to keep it in good condition in my collection. Its a sturdy workhorse no doubt but too nice a knife for me to scratch and ding when I have others.
I'm liking the black pearl RR too although it will be carried as a weekend knife from time to time I'm sure. My wife usually isn't much interested in my knives but she was smitten with the pearl handles as well.
The stag whittler is a real nail breaker to open, especially the two secondary blades, trying to figure out how to loosen them up some at present.
I've had about a dozen or more Rough Rider knives, mostly purchased for giveaways, and have to admit this is the first one I've had issues with. All the others had near perfect pull and reasonably strong if not perfect snap. I know some here have issues with purchasing knives made in China and I struggle with that decision myself. In building a collection though one has to keep within his financial means and they make up a small percentage of my knife collection overall. I still consider myself a Patriot, just not a perfect one I guess. :)

Great looking knives Sunknife, really like those red bones on the Schrade and the pearl on the RR. Congrats.

Iman, nice find!
Sunknife, that Schrade stockman is sweet!
I just got this Camillus rough cut stockman. The delrin handles have a nice flame look to it. Not going to carry this one  we'll see how long that lasts as I collect to use ::facepalm::

It's knives like that that makes me wish I could carry a fixed blade.
Working in a school and living in what amounts to the burbs of Philly just doesn't allow me the chance.

Thanks for the good words, the bolsters are brass..what you're seeing is a reflection where they're beveled...and poor pic quality.

Steve, most blue jigged bone is so dark that's it's hard to see the blue. I really like the lighter side.

The lighter side is quickly growing on me. As I was admiring it, I thought about the color, Ocean Blue. It dawned on me the lighter color actually makes it look like the ocean shallows giving way to the deeper depths. Then that got me to thinkin' how cool God is when it comes to all He's created, oceans included! :D

Here are 2 "Wester" knives both with the anchor/star/arrow logo. This German manufacturer of very fine knives operated from 1832 to 1966 under a variety of names: "Wester & Butz" (Seymore ?), "Wester Bros.", "Jacoby & Wester", and "Wester Stone Co." This last name seems to have been used only briefly around 1915.
3 1/8" pearl Senator Whittler, all blades marked "Wester/Stone Co./Germany" on front tang and the anchor/star/arrow logo on the back tang.
3 1/2" jigged bone Sleeveboard Pen, front tang of master blade has "Wester/Bros/Germany" and master back tang along with secondary front tang both have the anchor/star/arrow logo.
I so like Pen knives and this one has a most attractive heart shaped shield.

I think it's name is "Little Chief" IIRC. I've been on the hunt for one of those, I've seen one worthwhile example on the fleabay and I wasn't able to take it down. Very nice find! ::tu::
