I have one of the rosewood as well. A tad small for a flipper, but I have smallish paws.

Chris I've not owned it long enough to know how it will hold up but it's as solid as any I own and absolutely scary sharp out of the box, the point on the clip is needle sharp, I think you'd like it. I don't have any trouble deploying the flipper but I too think it is a tad short 3/4 of an inch longer it'd be perfect imo

Thank you sir! Its tiny, but useful. Made from 1900 to 1939. It was a gift from Charlie Noyes, a member here on this forum many years ago.

Time to wake this thread back up.
Picked up an unusual for me Marbles Barlow, made in China. Like the gunstock grooved bone handles on these.
Also picked up an RCC Barlow that I didn’t have, one in bone stag.

Nice collection of barlows. I hear the Marbles are good for the money. Supposedly made by the same people who make Rough Ryder. I caught the barlow bug about 6 months ago. I now have ten counting a Rough Ryder. The rest are Case. I received 2 as gifts. I got 2 this week so I need to update my barlow family photos. Once I do I will post it. I wish I had discovered the barlow long ago. I'm thinking of selling/trading some of my other patterns to get more barlows. But I hesitate because I don't want to regret it down the road.

Thanks Bill. These Marbles made in China knives seem very much like the quality of Rough Rider, as you said. I noticed that Winchester has this exact same Barlow with a larger bullet shield. Looks like that plant in China must be making a lot of knives for a lot of companies. I think Steel Warrior knives must be made in the same place. I noticed a lot of similarities in these knives. There is something about the steel and the way the blades are finished that tends to be the same on all these knives. Can’t figure out how they can churn out so many knives at such low prices?

Great show Mark & Kerry! I wasn't a big Barlow fan a few years ago but have picked up a few Queen made Robeson & Case Barlows recently, and have grown to really like them a lot.

Here is one I just came across going through a recent collection I purchased. A Sabra #3 Japan with nice scales and patina…
I’ve had several marked Sabra but this one I would say is the best as far as fit & finish, with strong snaps…

That is a nice looking Barlow. Never heard of Christopher Johnson but will look him up.

Picked up a custom knife from Tim Knott knives. Beautiful narra handles, coined liners, COA, wooden box and he included a shot glass. Impressive.
