Was able to get a 307 and a 301 new in the box. I've wanted a 307 for a while now. Now to find a 317.
Great find, I’ve been looking a little for a nice 307.

Nice pickUp on the Buck 307. The big Stockman pattern Buck’s are stoutly made and great outdoorsman’s pocketknives. A favorite of mine for taking hunting (along with a Buck 110). John, you need to find yourself one, nice ones pop up now and then at reasonable pricing. OH

Thanks guys. I've just been offered a Buck 317 NIB but it's $125 from the same guy I bought the 307-301 from. I'm tempted but haven't made up my mind yet.

Well crap, I did it again! The last new in box 307 hasn’t even arrived yet and I bought another this morning. June is still several days away and I’ve already bought August’s knife...

Oh! And you think you're the first?

I think I'm into 2022's knife budget.
I admire your self control if you normally only buy one knife per month.

Buck posted some LIMITED EDITION knives yesterday and I was able to pick up this 112 Ranger. It is S30V blade, drop point, satin finish, vintage blond ebony scales, nickel silver bolsters. Only 62 made. They put up a beautiful 124 and 120, but outside my price range. I knew these would not last long.
Photos are stock from Buck.

Those look really nice. I passed, but gave it some thought
Please post pics of the actual knife when you get it.

That's sweet! I've been toying with the idea of a 110 or 112 drop point... I bet you'll love it.

Breeze - Yes, I'll post some actual photos of the one I get. Thanks for commenting.
Byrd - Yeah...I'm really excited about this one. They don't make scales with that blond ebony much anymore, so that one will be special. I also picked up a 112 drop point a week ago from the 'web specials' Buck put out...those are sold out too. I went in and picked up the drop point 110 w/the ebony scales...now I'll have a matching set of the 112/110.

Lol I try real hard but I don’t always succeed. That’s the problem with only collecting knives no longer made, you don’t get to decide when you will buy one. You gotta grab them as they pop up.

Today's addition. Pacific Rim but it must have been made in the same factory that makes Rough Riders. Very good quality.

Yepper. Handles are synthetic of course but they look nice.
If anyone knows of a 382 that's not in this group, please let me know. (the center one has wood handles)

The handles really attracted my eye first, followed by the Case 07 "look" (probably the nicest lines of any medium Trapper). The Chinese who make the current Uncle Henry's would do well to source their synthetic handles from the same plant Buck is using - MUCH, MUCH nicer looking synthetic. Every time I'm about to go ahead and buy an offshore made Uncle Henry the ugly handles cancel my interest! OH
Ps Are the blades on your Buck "snappy"? I cannot quite make out the model number? (Ignor the model number request - I just noticed it in nice big letters in your photo title).

The blades are very "snappy" on all three. The only thing that would make them better IMO would be half-stops but they're just fine the way they are.
Does anyone know if Buck made a 382 in 2007 with "Cracked Ice" handles or is this a rehandle? (listed on eBay but the listing doesn't say) I'm leaning toward rehandled but then what do I know.

Jerry,
I check BCCI Catalog and price guide for 2006 - 2009, and they only show the 382 with the Rosewood handles. Original price $28.00. So I would guess that your assumption of your 382 cracked ice knife of being re-handled is correct. Nevertheless, I really like the looks of that cracked ice.
PS: 2009 was the last year Buck made the 382, BTW.

So I'm hearing you say that Buck NEVER made a 382 with Cracked Ice handles????? Could it have been a factory custom.

According to BCCI catalogs & price guides, yes...it appears Buck NEVER made a Cracked Ice handled 382 for 'regular' production. However, they very well could have made a factory custom or a Limited Edition one, but there is no valid information indicating one way or the other. Buck Dealer catalogs and price guides do not list 'custom' knives or LE's.
The only way to truly find out about your cracked ice knife would be to contact Buck and ask their historian if they ever made it as a LE or custom. If interested:

Edit: Jerry, I stand corrected on the making of the 382. Buck did stop making it in 2009; however, Buck started making the 382 again in 2013 and continue to make it today.
