Charlie what are those eye popping handles on the top knife? Also, is it just an illusion created by the camera, or is the main blade narrower from edge to spine than they used to be?

The knife you're asking about is actually a baby butterbean. The master blade on the Case beanies is swaged at the tip while most full sized Case canoes are not....unless they are "Select" or otherwise special. The handle material is Black Sea Dichrolam. Black Sea being the color designation. Dicrholam is available in several color schemes. While the Dichrolam material is smooth it appears to be 3D and light plays on it in intriguing ways.

The Black Sea is a dandy, I have a couple with that handle material and I have to stand still flat footed or looking at them I get dizzy..lol I also ended up with some of the Dichrolam material from somewhere anyway I sent it to Orvet with 6 or 8 old busted case knives. We will see someday his creation with the Black Sea handle material.

I ordered a box full of different handle material, I think 14 lbs of different types, there was only about enough of that Black Sea dichrolam to make a few handles. I sent all of it to Orvet but if I had more I would send it to you.

I appreciate the thought Jamie. I used to make a lot of knives for friends and family. Mostly stock removal, blade blanks, and restorations. I never got started forging. I never tried making folders either. Long story short, I have a stash of different knifemaking materials in my little basement shop and a list of suppliers as well. I also have a couple of unfinished projects laying on my bench.

QTCut5 pointed me to this thread and I decided to share a few of my canoes. I‘ll post a few more later.
