I just won a Short-Line # 16 on Flea-Bay!!

Well I did not win it...

I had to pay...

But I have had no luck until now in acquiring any new Short-Lines, so I am very happy today!

And here they are! It's a Camillus 1 that has seen some use. Lock-up isn't the best, and the blade could use a little work on an oil stone (I'm not at all confident in my ability to properly sharpen a hawkbill). But it looks pretty dang good, and it is my first short-line!

Here's the timber scribe.
It came out of MT, and I am betting it's seen a lot of use in forestry. I presume the deep gouge in the mark side scale may have been someone's way of identifying it as theirs.
There's a tiny bit of work to be done. I need to apply mineral oil to the handles, and remove some rust that apparently was left behind from a poor rust removal job in years past.
What is amazing is the size. I thought timber scribes were huge knives. The knife next to it is a Swiza D04; which is basically what happens when an old Swiss clock and watchmaker hires a bunch of ex-Wenger staff and starts to make knives. It is a tiny bit bigger than the 93mm SAK (advertised as 95mm).

At last I found another one!!!

It is well used, but I am happy with it.

A #16 "Short-Line" Camillus, won an auction on "flEbay" just got it in the mail.
