That is some nice looking corn there Phillip! The kernels look really plump, bet they are juicy and sweet! Our Corn here is only ankle high unfortunately. You ever make roasted corn salsa with some of the surplus? With a little fresh lime, some onion, jalapeƱo and tomato...maybe a bit of cilantro...deeeelish

That's a good job for a young feller! 6375 good choice for a tool. Mike, do y'all do anything with the tops? They're pretty good greens, like rutabaga tops or turnip tops.

I always enjoy looking at this post. Knives and food are a hard combination to beat.
Here are some little nectarines from the lonely tree I have. They are hard, crisp and sweet. The tomatoes are the first from may garden this year. Hopefully they will continue to produce.
The knife is a Victorinox with a slim, serrated 4" blade. I keep two of these knives in the kitchen and would be lost if I couldn't find one of them. My wife likes to sneak these in the dishwasher when I'm not looking.

Phillip, yes I have cooked up the radish greens, only when they are young though, as they seem to get a bit tough and bitter when they get older... (kinda noticing the same thing with myself actually!

)...had to pull the last of my radishes this morning as they were starting to bolt....now the peas are flowering so hopefully will have pods soon!
Wayne those are some fine looking nectarines and tomaters there! What part of the country are you in that you have ripe ones already? Lucky man! I have one of those serrated Vics in my kitchen too, except mine is a red one, what a great little knife, just lasers through tomatoes, fruits and veggies.
Here is my most used knife in the garden...use it for weeding in tight around the onions and other plants, that serrated edge saws through tough roots and the concave blade scoops 'em right out. Just a cheapo garden shop knife but I've had it for years and it serves me well. I actually lost it at the end of last year and my daughter found it this spring on the field edge after the snows melted...not a touch of rust and no worse for the wear.

No knives in today's pics....but we now have peas on the vine! Here's Sofia Rose with the season's first pea in hand...and in amongst the Walla Walla sweet onions...

We just enjoyed a supper of stuffed Banana and Bell peppers. Peppers were stuffed with our homemade bulk venison sausage, Vidalia onion, mushrooms, sour cream and rice and topped with some shredded cheese.
We make pickled banana peppers and usually freeze the sliced up bells to use in various dishes. However once or twice a season we stuff some and enjoy them

. For pickled peppers we don't usually allow them to mature to the size of the ones we stuffed.
The cherry tomatoes are getting ripe but the Roma's and Big Boys are still green. Had a friend get a bunch of green ones to fry last week.

Treefarmer you sure know how do make a guy hungry. Those peppers look awesome.
Mike, Great pics of the kids and garden. I live just east of Houston TX. If we can keep our gardens from drowning I hope to have a decent garden. So far I've been able to keep the white perch out of the tomatoes. The peppers and tomatoes have done well.

Wow Phillip those are some great looking stuffed peppers! That last shot is worthy of being in a food magazine for certain, very impressive work. To say they look tasty would be a huge understatement! Is that cocoa shell mulch under your pepper plants? Kinda looks like it...we use that in our garden too, keeps the weds down, retains the moisture, and smells darn good too.
Glad to see the Moose on the loose! I love a long spey blade for taking the ribs out of the inside of peppers, works perfect for that task, almost like that's what it was made for...

Pulled a few carrots this morning for lunch later. The weeds are really coming on strong now, sheesh! Was planning on spending a little time yanking some of the intruders out, but the skeeters are swarming, so might have to hold off a bit. This overcast, muggy weather with no breeze is prime time to get eaten alive...
Anybody else doing any harvesting at all? Any garden shots as we progress into the summer here...??

We're still doin' peppers and 'maters, they just keep on makin'

! Got enough laid up on the counters to keep us ol' folks busy for a while. She'll can the tomatoes and I'll pickle the peppers. Went over in the woods last evening and the wild blueberries are starting to ripen, got enough to make a couple of pies. Another week or so you can literally rake the berries of the bushes with your fingers. The larger domestic blue berries have already come and gone this season.
Sorry no knife pictures, but be assured knives will be used in the processing of the peppers and 'maters

Great photos, Treefarmer. They make me hungry just seeing them!
The only thing I am harvesting right now is blueberries, and they are winding down. Figs soon!

Looks like treefarmer is doing plenty of farming that doesn't involve trees. There's few things I enjoy more than a fresh berry pie. One of my favorites is elderberry. You've got to do a lot of picken to get a berry pie but well worth the reward.
Great Pictures!

One of the fruits of our labors is a good "mater sammich"! Surly someone will recognize the importance of very fresh bread covered with a good lather of Duke's Mayonaise, sliced tomatoes lightly salted and a big glass of tea (sweet, of course)

. This was my 2nd tonight, Miss Joy said two were enough

.
I though Jerryd might appreciate this post.

Phil, I was enjoying the heck out of it until I noticed you had gone and ruined a perfectly good 'mater sandwich with that nasty Mayonnaise.

Screwed up again, a completed harvest project without a knife in the picture

. But y'all know you can't cut up peppers, onions and little green 'maters without a knife

! I used my Case Moose and my SOG Flash II to do the butcherin' of the veggies. Here's a picture of the finished pickled peppers. This is a combination of sweet banana peppers, bell peppers, Vidalia onions, quartered up immature green Roma tomatoes and just a few little bitty super hot peppers for a little kick and of course sugar and vinegar.

This doesn't match Phils produce but it's pretty good for this far north at this time of year. The pictures didn't turn out too bad for guess and shoot. I can't see the camera screen in full sunlight or even shaded sunlight.
The first four are in pots and belong to my son. The last one is my Big Pink. I liked it so much last year, I hunted down another one for this year. It too has tomatoes on it but they're too deep inside to get pictures.
