Thanks, Skip. I hope you're right. The only surefire (oh, that's bad!) way to tell that I know of is destructive.

I picked up this nice 3 and 3/8 inch Camco jack at the local pawn shop for a sawbuck. It is tight, good snap and does not look like it has been used much. I particularly like the color of the synthetic handle material. Bolsters and pins are steel. This is the first knife I have bought since March! Long dry spell. lol

My recent pickup, Camco Small Pony

Very recently, this pocket knife arrived and it now becomes the latest example to join this topic or thread and to join my pocket knife collection. It came in a very large group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. I am very happy to have it, but I did not buy the group or lot for this particular pocket knife. It is a CAMCO, two blades, one tang stamp, 2 1/2" closed, two springs, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp reads "CAMCO (over) USA" The "CAMCO" is the curved or arched style. It is in VERY GOOD condition. It did require a very minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Here is a nice little Camco USA. (with issues) 3 3/8" closed.

I don't believe this knife has been sharpened. So I don't understand why the main blade is so soft with a mussy half stop.
Maybe too much Mumbly Peg.
The cap lifter is quite snappy with half stop.
Brass liners with steel bolsters and plastic covers.

This advertising pocket knife arrived recently in a very large group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. This pocket knife now becomes the most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. However, I did NOT buy the group or lot to obtain this particular pocket knife. But, as it turned out, this pocket knife is definitely a keeper and will be a welcome addition to my general CAMILLUS (CAMCO) pocket knife collection. It is a Y-B CIGARS, one blade, one tool (a cap lifter or bottle opener), one tang stamp, 3 3/8" closed, tip bolsters, advertising pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "Y-B (over) CIGARS" The main handle side says "I. B. E. W. Local 803" and the other handle side says "10TH ANNIVERSARY" Per GOINS' "Y*B CIGARS c 1920-1940 A marking used by the Young Brothers Cigar Company." GOINS' was WRONG, Y-B stands for Yocum Brothers, NOT Young Brothers. The main blade has a weak half stop and a weak opening and closing snap. The cap lifter or bottle opener has a strong half stop and a strong opening and closing snap. Overall, it is in VERY GOOD condition. It needed very little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is. Picture #9 is of a YOCUM BROTHERS, NOT Young Brothers, cigar box. It is NOT my item. It is NOT my picture. The very last picture, #10, is from the 1951 catalog and is an illustration and a description of this pattern or style of pocket knife.

Skip , that’s a interesting tang stamp . And the name correction With a pic of the box with proper name is great work !

That is a great find! I love bottle cap openers on pocketknives (as I am an avid beer drinker and always have a few imported bottles about in need of de-capping). Condition looks wonderful, so you have a real winner there

The cap lifter or bottle opener has a strong, crisp, half stop and a strong, crisp, opening and closing snap. Overall, it is in VERY GOOD condition. It needed very little cleaning. Lipic is not a Camillus brand. Here is what Tom Williams wrote at the BF in 2011 (2 quotes):
"We manufactured knives for the LIPIC Pen Co. If my memory is correct they were a Camillus customer in the 1950's and 1960's."
"They normally ordered small 2 blade knives with white or cracked ice handles."

Joseph Lipic started a quill pen company in St, Louis in 1863, putting metal nibs on feathers. The company still exists and is an advertising specialties firm. I couldn't find anything on who made their knives, but Camillus or Colonial are likely candidates. I've had a few over the years, not fancy just advertising giveaways. Found this info on the web.
