rexstubbins -- (do you mind if I call you Rex for short?) Have you seen what some of the local knife mechanics have done with some of the ubiquitous electricians knives. I didn't go back through this thread to look but here's a few that will knock your socks off.

Those are all super "knife" knives. I like the TL-29. The stories they could tell would really be interesting. Wish they could talk. Some can. I have 3, a really nice Ulster, a Camillus, and a 100 yr old Robeson. I don't take good pics so I will spare you on that. Almost forgot, I have a KaBar also. Makes 4.

I'm liking the TL-29's more and more, good solid knife. I've bought three or four in the last couple of months. They've all been Camillus from the WWII era with either rosewood or bone handles. A couple have TL-29 stamped into the handle, or stamped on a shield or no stamp at all, but all the tang stampes are of the four line variety. The first knife shown came in a lineman's set with the pouch and pliers. I now carry one on my belt every day.

I was surprised at how good the condition is vs the pictures on the bay when I snatched it up several months ago. Luckily your snipe cross hairs weren't aimed at it I guess.

Hi TJ. That's an Antonini electrician's knife, made in Italy. Carbon steel blades and kotibe wood covers. The screwdriver blade is non locking. It seems really solid so far. I got it yesterday. I really like it. Only $22 shipped.

Thanks Trey Reckon how old it is. From all my ebay searches, the one's with the double cut on the screwdriver blade have been very early one's, like the Empire radio knives.

Hey TJ, that one is brand new, made in Italy. I ordered in May 14th and had it in the mailbox May 17th. You should check out their website. Look for the Antonini USA site. Some good stuff and a very good price. They have some other electrician's knives with more tools.

Here is a new one to me a RIC-NOR CO over BOSTON,U.S.A...Anyone know any history???

Member 'arathol' said, "RIC-NOR wasn't owned by Providence Cutlery. It seems to have been some sort of electrical supply house in Boston. Providence Cutlery was apparently contracted to make knives for them. Thats why the knives are marked Boston despite the fact that Providence Cutlery is in RI."

Ric-Nor Co. Inc. was indeed an electrical tool supply company that sold tools through a mail order business.

The research I have done has them located in Somerville, Mass., using a P.O. Box, why they are marked Boston Mass. I do not know, either they moved after the 1970`s to Boston or had another location there that they shipped items from.
