All About Pocket Knives

Just went through the entire thread again. Worth it for the story told by Eric near the beginning.What I have :

Two Walden Knife Co's and a stag H A Dreer with both markings on either sides of the blades:

Lyle - Those are indeed wonderful FJs ... I probably have seen a few before but no doubt worth seeing again!! The stag handled FJ is a stunner ... I agree the post by Eric was interesting - Walden Knife Co-Op Co - maybe a bit reminiscent of current Canal St Co-op ....

Never posted this Walden Hawkbill in this thread where it belongs:

Picked up this 3 3/4" stag handled jack this week, stag has taken on a warm glow, hammered pins, nicely done match strike pull, blades only slightly down.

John, that is really something. Congrats. Looks like it has steel pins. Does this mean it was made during WW1?

Jay, I don't know the answer for sure but from what I've observed I feel the stag and steel hammered pins puts it pre 1900.

John...beautiful stag...that's a real looker!

It seems much harder to find Waldens in condition that nice...
Thanks John for reviving this old thread... I had forgotten all about it...
so here's an addition I picked up a few months ago that belongs here...
a little 2½” Walden Knife Co. whittler looks brand new with what I believe are still the original factory edges...
along with the copy of the company's letterhead from 1903...

Just went through this thread, great GREAT collection of old Waldens. Posting one of mine (it is a little rough) because it is a pattern I didn't see in any of the posts. 3 3/8" closed

I just got this one in. WWN20 Peanut. I bought it just because I never heard of it and couldn't find any info on it. Not a major investment but a real nice knife.

Appears to be a fairly recent knife made by Bear.

The only Walden Knife Co knife I have is this old pruner. Still snaps like a bear trap.
