I’ll give it a shot again down the road - somehow I imagined that technology wouldn’t be the barrier but I was proved wrong. Do you think being flexible on date/time would make a difference Steve?

BTW - congrats on your concealed carry permit, good to know that good citizens around me are taking personal protection seriously.

Maybe set up a poll of dates and times you would be able to host. Most votes determines when. I would allow for multiple votes for people who are flexible.

And thanks, but it's not for concealed carry, just a permit to purchase a hand gun. Concealed Carry is a whole 'nuther ball of red tape!

Great suggestion, I’ll add that to the next attempt.

Ahh gotcha, I enjoy my S&W model 66 revolver which shoots .38, .38 Special and .357. A real workhorse.

True, but I think "live" would be much more fun.
Let me ask you - (not knowing if you have a significant other or not, I'll ask any way) Let's say you're on the road, not due home for another week. How would you rather communicate with them? Texts and emails all the time? Or video chat?
Heck, I would even rather talk to my wife on the phone than just through texts.
But that's me.
Steve, I used to have a "significant other" aka "wife" but that was ages ago. I'll take the 5th on the question.

Skip - my thinking was that seeing and hearing each other live was different and cool enough than what we are used to here (which is great) but based on the number of PM’s in my inbox asking to participate (zero), I must be alone in that thinking ::shrug:: can’t blame a guy for trying something different (and possibly cool)
It was a "different" idea Tom, it just didn't materialize.

Tom several years back several of us had a great time meeting in the chat room AAPK used to have. It was the next best thing to being together in person. Your idea for a zoom meeting would be great I think. Don't give up.

With the help of the Good Lord & the big spoon, I got her going. Some knife pictures but mostly baby pictures.

I tried this a year ago in the middle of the pandemic and had zero takers :( but being the thick headed Irish-German-Native American that I am, lets see if another year brings renewed interest in the concept. The concept is simple; tune-in on the date and time of the Show+Tell session and either participate with knives you'd like to share -or- just be a viewer and see whose brought what knives to the session.

If you only want to be a Viewer, tune-in would mean to go to the Google Meet website address that I supply you with and watch (on your screen) and listen (from your speakers).

If you'd like to be a Show+Tell Participant, in addition to being able to watch and listen, you'll also need a camera (for us to see your show) and a microphone (so you can tell us during the show).

Basically any computer (desktop or laptop) should allow anyone to be a Show(er)+Tell(er) participant and a smartphone should allow anyone to be a viewer.

I've booked a Google Meeting for Tuesday June 1st at 6:00pm EDT for 1 hour - Anyone who wants to join, send me a PM or email WITH YOUR FIRST NAME AND EMAIL ADDRESS and I'll share the link to join - I will not publish the link in this post.

So who wants to play? Rather than structure how the Show+Tell should work, let's just get this party started, share a few knives, have a few laughs and maybe even participate in a flash-knife-giveaway ::uc::

Hey Tom, just a quick tip.
If you'd post this in the General AAPK area, I'd think you'd have many more takers. And if you make it a Saturday afternoon thing, I think the guys would be up for it.
Hopefully you can get this rolling, I'm game.
