I had just finished reading a short article about the AB knives in the 2nd edition of Voyles price guide. Really neat to see one here Ray!

Indeed a "neat find" ! And an Anheuser Busch brand with colors still on handle & working Stanhope lens along with full blades is also a rare find and usually a very expensive one. And you have the original pouch too !
I think yours is the best example i have seen. Congratulations Ray, a truly great score.

No picture of said rare pouch . . . ::shrug::

To me, that's as interesting as the knife.

I didn't know they came in so many colors. The few I've seen pictures of were red.

I also didn't know that August A. Busch Sr. committed suicide. ---> http://www.stltoday.com/news/archives/f ... 6ddbf.html

Yesterday brought me these. A RR with stone scales and a Bear & Sons Barlow. The B&S came wrapped in tarnish proof paper. Has half stops. Not much snap from the blades.

Real nice color bone, though...it's a nice looking Barlow.

This came today. I don't know why I bought it but for 8 bucks, it was worth the curiosity. The flintlock pistol on the handle is cool and it's a big knife at 4 7/8". One problem. The lock back spring was broke so I made it into a fixed blade by sticking a half washer under the top spring. It'll make a good rope cutting knife for the garage.

I'll second that, and you've reminded me that I haven't carried my 21 in a while...will have to remedy that soon. ::hmm::

Wow, Empire is in great shape. Most of these old Folding Hunters show blade loss from repeated sharpening. Do you know if it originally had a blade etch ?

I don't Kj. It looks like it has been lightly cleaned at some point but as you said the blade is in very good condition.

Y'all remember this one? Bro. Scott posted it, it's the one with the name and date on the mark side front bolster. I didn't ask about the knife other than did it W&T, Scott said it was okay. I am very pleased with the knife and bought it for a gift for the Scout leader at our church. It cleaned up pretty good, and the thing got scary sharp!
My research shows this to be an Ulster USA ULSC4G made from 1962-'79. This one has the year 1968 engraved with an electric pencil, so it's at least probably 49 years old.
