All About Pocket Knives

It's not a knife but a very nice little gift from Paul (Edgewise). Very thoughtful of you Paul. It will remind me of you as kind of a virtual trip to Trinidad every time I see it.

For anyone who doesn't recognize it, it's a fridge magnet representation of a "steel pan drum" done in copper. Just a skosh bigger than a half-dollar.

I was blown away today. BLOWN AWAY!! I was expecting a couple of things in today's mail but nothing like this. When the mail came there were three packages (I was expecting two). One from Alabama that I had bought off eBay. One from Mike (313 Mike) which was totally unexpected and one from John (jmh58) which was kinda expected because he said he would send something for helping him learn how to post images.

From Mike, first the included letter. Then this Queen #99 (I think) Workhorse series Wharncliffe jack. WOW. Thank you Mike. This was very generous of you. You're a swell fella and not just because you gave me a free knife. Semper Fi Marine. Next was from John (jmh58). He said he was sending a thank you for helping him figure out how to post images but I just figured it was some little something he had laying around the house. Something he had laying around the house alright but it wasn't some little something. When that tube slid out of the box, you could have knocked me over with a feather. A GEC 55 Houndstooth, covered in beautiful Bocate wood. Holy snarkies John. It's too much man but I'm not sending it back. Your generosity along with Mikes overwhelms me. I don't have the words to appropriately thank the both of you. Umptee Ump posts on AAPK and I'm finally at a loss for words.

Going back to this dukes mayo thing, I looked at my local grocery store (reasors) and it was just not there. Any idea where I can find some? If I have to go to wal mart it may not be worth it

Got this in today's mail from Scott. Thanks buddy. That's pretty doggone cool. Gotta find someplace to hang it now.

...and it's a real FL vehicle tag, not some repop stuff .. ..

Back in the day, Alabama issue tags where stamped with the 2-digit year (no sticker) in the corner
and the first 2 #'s were code for the county of residence. So I have one issued in the year I was born
and from the county I resided ....

I have one of those, well OK not a USMC one but I have a Minnesota Centennial plate and someone did give it to me so it was a bomb all by itself. When you are a bonafied (spellcheck says I spelled that wrong but only comes up with Bonehead to correct it with which still may fit but isn't what I wanted to say) pack rat and never throw anything out, there's a fair chance I have one or something close to whatever the topic of conversation is. The die cast cars are also something I was into years ago and the shelf goes across two walls of my office bumper to bumper. You might notice a little dust on them but kindly ignore that. This is a mancave.There's too much junk in here to worry about a little dust. ___Dave

Dave, I've found Google to be a reliable spell checker. You search on "bonafied" and it will say, "Did you mean bonafide"

Guess that I really can't call this a bomb since JerryD told me it was on the way. He said that he sent it because of my Avitar (or whatever you call it). It's a brand new, right out of the box Victorinox SAK "Tinker" (has something to do with the 1900's Chicago Cubs double play combo). Knife measures about 3 9/16" closed. Also has toothpick and tweezers stuffed into the end of knife.
Thanks so much for the kind gift, Jerry. As I said in an earlier post, "The people of AAPK are the Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr8est"!! Believe it or not, I have been looking at the larger SAK's but just never pulled the trigger. Now I can slowly and carefully drop the hammer and enjoy the knife. Thanks again my FRIEND.

So I receive a PM a week or so ago that there is a package heading my way! The package contains a Daisy Red Rider BB Gun!
I mentioned somewhere that my current BB Gun bit the dust and Garry (Quick Steel) felt I should have the one he sent his nephews. Apparently they were being restrained from using it by their mom

Garry knows my grandsons and I and probably some other trouble making boys will bust open a few pop cans with this!

Since she was mentioned I feel I've got to explain a bit about my sister. She is a lovely, high energy lady with many talents. Unfortunately, she spent much of her working life in Holywood. I won't go into details but to create the picture, at her wedding she was given away by Rob Reiner [A Few Good Men] who also provided for her Hawaiian honeymoon. The fact is she was immersed in the Deep left. Gradually she is regaining her balance but it is a slow process and does not yet encompass guns.
