Baykeeper,
If the ebay seller described your knife as being a 1967-1972 era knife, they were wrong. Your knife is a 1972-1986 three line model. A 67-72 model is only two lines and should read; "Buck" and under that; "USA".
I considered not saying anything, but then, I thought maybe you would want to know, in case you want to call the seller out on this...if in fact they sold this under false pretenses. I know I would. Not trying to open up a can of worms...but in my thinking, you have a right to know what you 'don't' have, based on what you believe you do have.
Good luck with whatever direction you go on this.
Thank you, they did describe it as '67-'72. Oh well, live and learn. I'm basically a 300 Series collector and have every model of that series, so you guys gotta help me with these other models as I branch out. I just wanted a "regular" 112 in my EDC rotation and figured the older the better, (already have a 112 Slim Pro), and now I have one so it's all good. This will definitely go into my EDC rotation now that I know that.

Well, nevertheless Baykeeper...you still have a very nice vintage 112, even though in a slightly later model year. The wood scales are the old honey/ebony wood scales Buck used back then. You have the two-tone ebony scales.

Buck stopped using ebony wood due to import bans, but started again last year due to an agreement with Taylor Guitars.
Glad you're content with your 112. Lots of Buck fans here, so if you're not sure about something 'Buck', give a shout-out here and we'll assist in helping you spend your hard earned money during the pandemic apocalypse.

I've got a couple of these. One serrated and one not. I like them. Lots of blade for the size/weight.

Mike, I love the knife except when I have to close it. It's a PITA to close for me. I'll just leave it here on my desk and keep coon fingerin' it. Sooner or later, I'll get the hang of it.

EeDeCe...you have a GREAT vintage Buck Steelmaster. That's a keeper. Here's a reply I made to 'Replicant' regarding his Steelmaster.
"Replicant: That is a GREAT vintage 120 General you picked up. ( a 72-86 model )
Looks like it's in very nice condition for its age. To get the good stuff, one must take the 'risk' sometimes...and you got a great deal. The "STEELMASTER 137" is another awesome pickup. Those were first made by Buck back in 1975 and up through 1991. I can't find where Buck made them after that year...they're not listed in the catalog. Nevertheless, you have another vintage Buck made product."

I'm pretty pleased with this thing. After watching for one for a while, I went ahead and ordered a new Schrade. Naturally the next day I saw this on ebay and got it. So now I have both, but I really like this thing. The case looks brand new and the piece itself almost as good.

My "new" 055. I picked this up from EBay for a pretty good price. I'd been thinking about one for a while so I was happy when this one came up. It's a baby 110. Appears new, but there are initials engraved in the blade. Probably why it was inexpensive.

GREAT pickup Byrd. Those are pretty popular, and I've been considering getting one myself. Still looking for the right one. I saw on the bay where someone had a Michael Prater (Painted Pony) 55 where he put on new scales that were very nice. It sold for only $50.00. Wow! Someone got an awesome deal on that one for a Prater signed knife.
Initials JNF: (Jolly New Friend)

Nice pickup Byrd
The 55 is a great pocket knife. I carry mine often.

Brad, several years ago, one of my best buddies gave me an 055 for my birthday. I dropped it in my pocket and a few weeks later (probably 2 or 3) while doing something extreamly stupid, I broke the tip off the blade.

Sent it off to Buck, paid my $10 and had the blade replaced. When It returned, I put it away and haven't carried it since. Lesson learned. I'm too ignorant to carry a nice knife like that.

I got a 55 a month or so ago and it hasn't left my pocket. I really think it's one of the best knives I've had. An easily portable 110 is about as good as it gets IMO. I got one of the new ebony ones and it looks as good as the build is solid.

Thanks all! I polished the brass & put some wax polish on the wood, oiled it and it's in my pocket. I think I have a new favorite knife!

I'm pretty sure it's Aluminum. I got it off eBay. I have 4 different colors and the action on all of them is as smooth as velvet.

Was digging around in a box of pictures and found this Buck Knife use & care booklet. I know I’ve had it for at least 30 years, maybe longer, but hadn’t seen it in forever. I knew in my mind I used to have one of these, but have no idea how it ended up in a box of old photographs. Glad to have it back in hand. OH

That looks familiar, it might have been in the box my 110 came in back in ‘85ish. Wish I still had that box but I think it got thrown out in a move.
