OH thats a pretty neat Kutmaster, I haven't seen one with that blade set up...I like it...

Here's a 5 blade Ulster, it's allmost identical to the military model they made except it has brass liners and no bail.
So I'm thinking maybe late 40's or early 50's...what do you guys think..?

Got my hands on this, from what I can see, rare, Crosman Blades Scout Utility Knife. According to my Knife Guide book they were in business for 3 years.....

It's the only scout I've seen with a linerlock.

And I'd like to throw this Certificat of registration card in here from 1950 if ya'll don't mind....

A couple of questions.

Does anyone know of a book that focuses primarily on scout knives?

For a utility knife to be considered a scout, is it not needed that it have some identifier e.g. a scout associated shield, or perhaps words engraved on a blade?

Does a bail alone qualify a utility as a scout?

Any input will be appreciated.

Just kidding Q S . It's my opinion that any knife specifically produced for the Boy, Girl, Cub, or Brownie scouts or other similar organizations would be appropriately called a "scout knife". In addition, the four blade (or three, or five bladed) utility knife can be properly referred to as a "scout knife" even though it may or may not have a shield or etching referencing "scout". As it is used today "scout knife" is a very broad term. Others may have a different opinion.
