A NOS Imperial. Excellent condition except some rust is forming on the pen blade.

FJR ... just been reading up on Terrier Knives in another thread in this forum ... the first time I have heard of the brand.
That knife of yours is one heck of a knife and in great condition for a knife that must be over 100 years old.
Just love the 'warm glow' that aged bone takes on.

1980-1984 best I can figure. Scott, those white Delrin Scouts are few and far between. Do a good clean up on that one, you got a good 'un.


I think this will be my last Case Mini-Trapper. That's enough. Bought this Craftsman to fill the remaining slot in my little medium jack collection. Was pretty pumped about it until it showed up today. Decent condition all around EXCEPT the main is so slow that snap is almost non existent and it just kind of slops closed. My fault. I didn't ask. Not sure what I'm going to do yet.

I think I can say unequivocally that it's very unlikely there is another Case Mini-Trapper in my future. I like what I have but I've lost enthusiasm for more.

Me too Scott. The Wharncliffe and the California clip blade. I think that's a very attractive combination. The handles are a little more red than I like but it's not a deal killer.

I got a Queen Hawbaker-style muskrat this week with the same blade configuration, I haven't had a chance to take pics yet. I was disappointed to find a little play in the clip blade (seller claimed there was none), so I'm mulling over a possible return. It's the first one I've seen from Queen, however, so I might just suck it up and deal with it. Such a good combination of blades, probably the same reason you're addicted to those Wharnie trappers.

(Speaking of which, there's a tiny trapper with Wharnie secondary that showed up in the AAPK store some time today. It's scrolling across the top of the page right now. Are you sure you're done buying 'em? )

Nah, you guys have it all wrong. He was Tim the Tool Man's neighbor. "Hidey Ho neighbor". Quite an accomplished knife mechanic.

I think you are on to something Jerry. At least that Wilson would have the correct anatomy to do that scratching.

The postman dropped this one off today. A Queen #24 Slim Trapper. 4 1/8" with Winterbottom bone.
It has a small center pin crack on the pile side but other than that, it's not too bad. Blades have honest wear.
Sideways Crown over "Q" tang stamp puts this one circa 1945-55.
