ludwig26 wrote:A 2 dot 78 Midnight pearl 92042B. If anybody has any knowledge of the volume produced of these I would like to hear it. I know they made a collectors pair but I haven't seen many regular knives. Sorry for the bad pick. It's raining here and I just threw it up on a drum and snapped a pic. The knife is actually real clean.
Kerry, I am not 100% on this but I believe a Case model # starting with "9" indicates a synthetic pearl handle. I have a 92033 "new grind" small pen from the early '80s with wonderful-looking but very much faux "pearl" handles (white, not midnight like yours). I believe real pearl model #s start with 8? Yours has a lot of the same pearl effects as mine does. They look really good but if someone represented the knife as genuine pearl to you I would definitely double check. ::tu:: Either way, it's a fantastic knife! ::nod::

Just arrived is this Boker USA Easy Open Jack. Used but fairly clean; a bit of wear on the master blade, more so on the secondary. But both have good snap and half stops. These were evidently made in the 30's and 40's. It is the only pattern I've found that carries the Federal shield. There may be others but if so I am unaware of them.

tongueriver thanks for the update. I often say that it is a rare day when I don't learn something new from AAPK. Thanks again.

Pulled the trigger on this one. Been waiting a long time to catch one at a reasonable BIN price for what appears a fairly mint serialized 153UH with all the other goodies. Use to have one from back in the late 80s and carried it on my belt anytime I went into the woods. But someone stole it out of my truck a few years back. :x

Just got this ERN in. It's German, I believe, rather plain, but a stout knife with gator snap. I'm not sure the covers are original, so I feel it may be a good candidate for a mod.

The knife or your mail lady? If it's the mail lady, we're going to need more pictures before we can make that decision.

Picked this one up this afternoon on the way home from a job. Haven't had the chance to look up the maker but it is a well built knife and the price was right:$25.

K7K that looks really nice, especially for the price.

I got a new edc from a trade in today- gec 73 trapper. Such a great pattern, one of the best that isn't a stockman :D

Also got an 8ot ffa in perfect user shape for a good price. Can't get enough of them 8ot's.

Queen City 4" stockman less one blade. It's now some type of serpentine pen knife. Looks as if the sheepfoot blade snapped and then was ground down to meet the bolster. Not too bad of a job. Still a neat old Queen with Rogers bone. I'm guessing wartime production because of the all steel construction.

I sent some knives out to get rehandled a few weeks ago and they have made their way back home. This is an Emmons-Hawkins Hdwe jack knife. I had the celluloid handles replace with Rams Horn. I am quite pleased with the result. ::ds::

The Rams Horn is not as smooth as it looks in the pictures. It doesn't feel as "fat" as it looks in the profile picture.

Nice knives! I have only one knife that has ram's horn handles and it is an Italian stiletto with a kris blade. I think it makes great handle material.
