Nice ones gents! I bought these two from Ken Daniels at the Badger show today...the Schat & Morgan #69 Barlow is 1095 and genuine Winterbottom bone...and the workhorse series equal end wharnie is imitation winterbottom...I did not go into the show intending to buy Queens, but Mr. Daniels sure had some impressive knives with him, and very reasonably priced too. I got both of these for the price of an average GEC. Both walk and talk nicely and both shave hair...Nice work coming out of Queen...

Yeah, that's an older one with the black synthetic handles. Did you notice that these 18s (& 14s) all have excellent snap to the blades. I have yet to see one with weak snap. They're just like potato chips. I can't seem to get enough of them.

Wait until you try oven baked potato chips.

The skinner blade? I think that's the best part of the Bose-designed saddlehorns (and my Boker copperheads)!

Takes all kinds...

Funny, that skinner blade just looks outright bizarre to me & out of place on that Saddlehorn frame. I hated that skinner blade so much, I couldn't live with it, but I really like the heft and palm swell of the Saddlehorn pattern ... so extreme measures were necessary. I figured there was enough meat on it & the nail nick placement enabled me to lop off the tip & create a sheepsfoot blade out of it. Overall, I wish it didn't have the swedge grind but the mod suits me far better.
PS - you mentioned the Boker Copperhead - that is similar in design to the Case Tiny Hunter - I've had several of those & eventually sold them all due to that skinner blade - I guess that extreme upswept blade just doesn't work for anything I do with a pocket knife - LOL. So I guess you're right - takes all kinds.

I have an orange one I bought a couple years ago, that has worked flawlessly so I couldn't resist a new color and blade shape.

Hmm, now i need a Boker auto, esp in orange or red. Darn, i thought i had enough knives.
Here is a small Advertising Lobster knife made by "Inox" in Solingen
For: "Nobel's Explosives Company Limited"
"Nobel" ----- seems i have heard this name before for some reason ?? but i never bought any "explosives" except firecrackers.

Picked up a Victorinox today, with a Braun logo.
Early Braun products interests me as well as knives so this is a nice find.

"Inox" = Stainless Steel
Inox is short for Inoxidable.
BTW.... The Name Victorinox came from two names. Queen Victoria and inoxidable. Victor- inox.

Not Queen Victoria. Victoria was the name of either the mother or the wife of the man who started the company that became SAK.

In 1909, the mother of founder Karl Elsener died and he named the company "Victoria" in her honour.

According to Google, the translation of "inox" (French) is "stainless steel" --- The translation of "Inoxidable" (Spanish) is "Stainless"

I stand corrected. Now that you mention it, I do remember reading that it was a family member and not the Queen.

Now that that's settled, on to the next conundrum. Is Stainless Steel really stainless?

Well it stains less. That's about it.
