I thought this Rough Rider Route 66 Knife was cool.
I agree! Per the spreadsheet available on AAPK, the model number should be RR1541; am I correct? I believe it's out of production.

Yep, Dan, that’s it! Like I said, it came from a really out of the way country store. No telling how long it had been there, I suppose.
Beautiful knives and pics, Iman!

interesting thread...I operate a camera since 1974 and still not extra good at it,,,lol,,but decent I say.
Most people on here or other knife forums use props near or in the background, very often in the same light position...so first of all the props often steal the show ore cludder the picture up...the knife and its details going under. I prefer a one color background with little details....like leather, fabric or fibers, also small gravels, pine needles...well you get the idea!
A hand full of leaves or some wood shavings can do wonder!!
Also the light will be more gentle on such backgrounds. Speaking light,,,that's a biggie! try not to use straight flash directly on the knife, no flash is much better,,,,take pictures of metal objects in the morning light (blue atmosphere) and handle material will shine in the golden hour after 4-5 pm...if need to be inside...use flash with a simple light tent, you can make that from Bristol board and light weight white paper! if all fails, use a single fold napkin in front of ur flash,,,camera or phone! And on a late note...are you trying to be artistic in your creation...color, background light?? Or do you present a technical picture for ID or evaluation!?? Snapp pic accordenly!
These modern camera phones have amazing lenses and can do very close-ups...always go closer then not....think macro, a knife is a small object, get big with it!!

A lot of what makes those pictures look so good is laying out the background.
Color and texture in the background create a mood that enhances the main subject in the picture. What the background consists of also enhances and give the subject meaning.
A knife with a background of rustic leaves and a woodland setting make you think camping, hiking and survival in the great outdoors. Take a picture of that same knife on a plain piece of white paper and all you see is an old knife.
I learned this from my Father who was a photographer for the Army in World War 2.
Before the War he did photography for advertisements.
He is in his late 80's and always has a camera around his neck.
The camera I use is one of the first digital camera's. Sony Cybershot DSC-P30 made in the mid to late 90's.
Was given to me by my Dad 15 years ago when he purchased a new one.
Still works great and take perfect pictures.

good one!!

Rough Ryder calls this handle “High Plains“ - not sure why!
