Elk antler looks great on these also. In my opinion Elk is second only to Sambar Stag.

Thanks. Since good sambar stag is hard to get and expensive Elk makes a great alternative. Appreciate the kind words on my engraving.

... funny you should mention that, because I was thinking that same thing. Recently I bought several old German made fixed blades from an estate sale and I put them on my work bench to clean them up and I started thinking about they must have made a ton of these types of knives in the 60's and 70's and how so many of them have really great looking stag on them.

Just picked this one up today. ARMESO Solingen about mint has 1955 written on the back of the sheath.

I have a very similar knife. Mine does not have the painted background on the etch, and it is a slightly different Scout picture, but the inset pattern looks like same. Mine has a leather disc handle and the blade is copper-plated, but they definitely share some DNA somewhere down the line!
Someone on here helped identify mine as being made by Gebrüder Lützenkirchen from Solingen. I did not show the sheath for mine, but it looks identical (except mine is a bit more worn!)
Your knife is absolutely gorgeous!

This stag feel nice and heavy, very solid and smooth, with still having lots of texture... I mainly wanted the knife because the handle felt so good to hold on to....
