All About Pocket Knives

These ones arrived today from way up north, a wonderful trio of schrade lb7's. I've never had an lb7 before, I have a 6ot which is very similar but these are even more sturdy with near perfect f&f. Impressive knives for sure. Now I have an urge to find a $20> hard user for work

Had two Camillus era Buck 300's come in today's mail - all the way from TX - a 301 Stockman and a 313 Muskrat. From MO I took delivery of a ten dot (1980) Case 6318 HE - my first Case Medium Stockman with a Pen blade in lieu of the Spey blade. OH

Wow ! What a busy night for knives. Too many posted for comments to be left.
They are all nice ; esp. those LB7's shown many posts ago. That's good photography too.

Duffer that's a sweet threesome. Really like all three, great bones on the Bridge Cutlery. Great blades on the Robeson.

Thanks Scott. The double sheath is well made and undoubtedly worth more than the knives. I think the knives would be very functional.

I bought the same RR fixed blade combo a few years ago. I was disappointed because neither knife had a truly sharp edge. I think the RR fixed blades are not made by the same manufacturer as makes the RR traditional style folding knives.
Garry how sharp are these fixed blades ?

Two Cases and an Empire in the mail basket today

I'm going to start off saying that this acquisition would have never been made possible without Bruce (old hunter) being so gracious to contact me and offer to pick up this set of schrades he saw in a pawn shop. One of my grails you could say. It's a beautiful set of minty 1985 old timer redbone stockmans! Matching serials #0386.

Those are absolutely gorgeous!

Lost an auction recently on a 34ot red bone. This is a set I will be acquiring if I find one at the right price.

OH the Empire is 3 7/8 Inches closed. Pretty good handful.

KJ: Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.I found the sharpness to be better than expected on the larger knife. Very decent. Smaller blade did not embarrass itself but was not as sharp as the other. The steel used is 8CR14MOV if that is of any help to you. I wonder if your set used the same steel. I haven't had to time to work on the edge. Did you find it easy to fine tune the edges, or not so much?

If I was into hunting and preparing game I doubt this set would be my first choice. Yet if it responds to sharpening and can hold that edge for a decent time I think they could be used. But you will be in a far better position to evaluate that.
