Great shot Squach, even if it's not current. Great pose, beautiful knife, snow. Mmmmmmmnnnnnnn.
Great shots Zed, excellent color comes out of your pics. Kudos to you.
Great looking knife!
Got you beat. This was only $16. Listen, in the end I believe we'd all prefer to only buy made in the U.S.A. But as I type this on a phone sourced from who knows how many countries and I drive a car with the same pedigree it has unfortunately become a fact of life. Am I using words to make myself feel better? Yes. I'm mad because at 75 years and watching too many profit off their hypocritical ways it becomes harder and harder to justify my own and others suffering. I've seen too much in my life and sacrificed a lot for my country to feel bad about spending my dollars on a product sourced overseas. Don't forget the majority of those dollars end up in the pocket of an american company. End of rant. Do what you will. Just don't tell me what to do.C-WADE7 wrote: βThu Feb 09, 2023 2:09 amGreat looking knife!
I want to dislike Rough Rider because itβs made in China, but they have so many classic style patters, nice badges and and the fit and finish is good. I got a whittler pattern a while back and have put it through the paces and itβs been a great knife for $18.
I am also one who would rather buy products made by Americans for Americans. The vast majority of the knives in my collection are USA made. The second largest number are European. I previously avoided Chinese products mostly due to their lack of quality and, of course, politics. I learned early on that Japanese knives are quality made, for the most part, and Japan has a long history of making edged tools and weapons that stand the test of time. Recently there has been an influx of Chinese knives that are high quality and craftsmanship. I own a few now that I grudgingly must admit are fine pieces of work. So, my objection to Chinese knives is now purely political and has little or nothing to do with quality. The world is changing and the "world economy" has become the norm. Many of us believe that the change is not a good one but none of us can see into the future and know where it will take us. I will not criticize fellow collectors or their knives for my personal political beliefs and am learning that China also has a long history of cutlers. There are a lot of quality products coming from a part of the world that I'm not particularly fond of and rather than being prude about it, I choose to see where it goes and what it produces. End of answer rant. You buy what pleases you Joe and post with pride, we all learn a little from each other every time we post. That's what it's all about.joeradza wrote: βThu Feb 09, 2023 4:11 amGot you beat. This was only $16. Listen, in the end I believe we'd all prefer to only buy made in the U.S.A.
